To become the new Manny vs Floyd it has to fall in to the "must happen" category.

Floyd and Manny spent many years in the same division.
GGG and Ward have not

Floyd and manny were P4P no 1 and 2 for years, both holding top spot on occasion.
The same can not yet be said of ward and ggg

Floyd and manny had a rivalry, albeit built up by the media.
GGG vs ward do not

The fans wanted to see Floyd vs Manny more than almost any other fight in history and both fighters transcended the sport into the consciousness of not only the casual fan, but people who didn't like boxing.
I know plenty of people who don't know who Ward or GGG even are

Many years after it should have happened, we still debate manny vs floyd, many still want to see it, people still argue over who was at fault for it not happening, the debate rages on about who would have won prime for prime.
5 years from now, when ward is retired, few will care that this one couldn't be made

Ward and GGG would be a great match up and like Manny vs Floyd a great clash of styles. But that alone does not make it anything like "the new manny vs floyd"

You're aware that unlike Chavez Jr's people, Team Ward never made an offer to GGG for a fight at 168, much less a lucrative, PPV one? GGG signed that offer pronto before Chavez backed out. The other money guy, Froch, has been quoted he'd rather swerve that one. So if it takes p4p #2 one division up to deflate the hype, that's a hell of a fighter. Ward never went up a division to beat p4p #2, his only p4p win was over #10 Dawson who went down a full division and came in a shell of himself.

Regarding Rich Coward, dunno what to tell you bud. It's pretty much common perception that Floyd thought less of his chances than most fans did, or his risk tolerance threshold is low, or both. You're swimming against the tide here.
