Absolutely made up for the lad, comes across as a cracking Bloke and now he's gone over to the States and become world champion.

I'v actually given myself a sore throat here from screaming.
Re: There you go
Why? This doesn't make the criticism of the last two or three years incorrect. Great result, also the right result, but Brook should have been here a long time ago.

I'm so made up.
Not much money granted but had 50quid on Kell, and 10quid on a Kell to win on points and Dirrell/Bika to go the distance double, for some added spice.

You'd have a sore nose if you were my neighbour.jameswilson wrote:I'v actually given myself a sore throat here from screaming.

Great result for the lad, surprised is many had Porter in it. First time I've seen him fight and I thought Brook was winning well, Porter missed a fornicate tonne, I know people score on aggression but it's supposed to be effective aggression, not missed punches that land on shoulders and arms. Brooks accuracy and better punching was the clear distance for me, also impressed by his composure late one, his stamina has been a question mark since Jones I and he looked in great shape at the end. Well done to the lad, enjoy it.

My ex's neighbour in York came round and complained at daft o clock when I went off when Calzaghe got the decision against Hopkins.mickey1975 wrote:You'd have a sore nose if you were my neighbour.jameswilson wrote:I'v actually given myself a sore throat here from screaming.

Whilst it 'should be' scored in the manner you mentioned, it so often isn't. Hence when I heard the scores I did think to myself 'it's gone to Porter.'SNG wrote:Great result for the lad, surprised is many had Porter in it. Yes. Strensall is a fair way out. Quite posh, too, apart from the squaddies. You wouldn't want to walk it from the city centre.SNG wrote:He weren't impressed. You know Strensall? Horribly boring place.

Poor fight. Both guys well exposed. The likes of Thurman would hammer both of them.

I disagree. I thought Brook boxed very well. Conservative punch output but kept his shape and delivered crisp shots rendering Porters wild diving in useless at times.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Poor fight. Both guys well exposed. The likes of Thurman would hammer both of them.
There were a few close rounds but he still won clearly on my card, just sharper clear punches compared to Porter whale away to the body.
Thought Parris's card was fornicating stupid.
Well done Kell. Great job.

Re: Spoiler for Brook result.
I watched the Showtime fight and the whole way through they kept getting the names mixed up, desperate to praise Porter when it was Brook's work they were praising.
Also kept showing Brook highlights until a big panic at the end of the 11th when they backpedalled saying Porter had done lots of good work himself and showed a montage of Porter work .
Obviously had a kick in the arse from someone.

Re: Spoiler for Brook result.
That was a good scrap, Brook is a tough customer and held his nerve well. Porter must have a very good chin, he took some clean whacks. I imagine both are very sore tomorrow. Well done to Brook, I thought Porter would be too much for him. There're some good, lucrative fights now for him.
Re: Spoiler for Brook result.
I had the same feeling after watching that mess this morning. Neither looked likely to be a long reigning champion with that kind of performance.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Poor fight. Both guys well exposed. The likes of Thurman would hammer both of them.
However I'm starting to think Brook did a pretty good job. Good on him.

Re: Spoiler for Brook result.
got to disagree. Brook put on a good performance against a fighter near on impossible to look good against. If anything i think Brook came out of the fight showing us hes got alot more to give. He knows he can hang with the big boys now and Thurman, although a better fighter and a bigger puncher than Porter fights in a completely different way to Porter and will be more suited for brook in my opinion. Bring on Thurman next and watch special K do a number on himShadrachSimmo wrote:Poor fight. Both guys well exposed. The likes of Thurman would hammer both of them.
