Re: R.I.P Glyn Leach
I remember gettng sent welfare packages when I was abroad. There was always a Boxing Monthly included and it was always the boxes from my mum. She knew the score.

RIP Glyn, one of the finest pieces of journalism I have read was written by Glyn about the motivations
of George Foreman's comeback which in turn motivated me towards better things in what was a massively motivating and inspiring piece. I wrote to him 10 years after the article was published and told him how it inspired me towards better things and he sent me a copy of the magazine, a true gent and a scholar. The world of boxing journalism is poorer for his passing.

Re: R.I.P Glyn Leach
Shocking news. A real gentleman, so generous with his time and someone who I really admired and respected. I rarely read any comment pieces, except from the very seasoned writers in Boxing Monthly, and Glyn's editorials did not paper over the cracks, a straight shooter - I always looked forward to reading his analysis and also his posts on here too. RIP Glyn.
Re: R.I.P Glyn Leach
Shocking news, always enjoyed his articles. Some good stories from people on here too about their interactions with him, mine only extends to him tweeting me an answer to a crossword question in one of the big Christmas crosswords, not much but very much appreciated at the time. RIP.

RIP Glyn, a sad loss for our sport.
Didn't he have a battle with cancer a few years back?

Re: R.I.P Glyn Leach
I've only just heard this and am stunned.
As a teenager in the 1990s I used to run to the newsagent to grab a Boxing Monthly. I loved Glyn Leach's editorials, and admired his integrity, objectivity, and wit. He wrote like he was speaking to me and I absorbed everything he said. Spoke to him once or twice on here and he was a gentleman.
Leach left school with no prospects. That he landed himself such a great job, and one that placed him at the very centre of the sport he loved, is remarkable. He didn't die a rich man, but what a man.

Well said.Sklar wrote:I understand it was a heart attack but that's not from a direct source. Glyn's contribution to our sport was absolutely huge. It's the end of an era this.
Re: R.I.P Glyn Leach
Real shame, he was a nice guy and knew his boxing. I used to enjoy reading his articles. He'd pm me sometimes on here and was pretty funny.
Re: R.I.P Glyn Leach
Not the news I wanted to wake up to. Gutted! Such a nice guy :(
