Boxrec suggests that Gunther during his time in Europe went to Argentine in 1912 for one fight and was Koed by featherweight Willie Gould. Isn't it more likely that the George Gunther who fought Gould was a local fighter who had taken the ring-name George Gunther? Unless there is any proof that the ”real” George Gunther fought Gould, I think that this fight ought to be removed from his ring record.
One of Gunther's fights with Curran in 1911 has been registered twice in Boxrec, 1911-11-22 and 1911-11-25. The correct date is 1911-11-22 according to French newspapers of the time. They also agree that the ”fight” between Kid McCoy and Hubert Roc on the same card was an exhibition.
Gunther also appeared on the Carpentier vs Moreau card 1913-01-08
George Gunther vs Eugene Stuber drew 10 (La Presse and Le Radical 1913-01-10)
Their return scheduled for 1913-01-18 did not take place.
