Let's appreciate living heroes of British boxing thread

Post by chinny »

The sudden, early death of Glyn Leach inspires this thread to show appreciation for heroes of the British scene, hopefully both obvious and less so.

A topical pick is Brendan Ingle. Steve Bunce reminded us a month or so ago (in Glyn's mag) what a, well, joke, it is that Ingle still isn't in the IBHOF. Does anyone know how one goes about petitioning the hall of fame to ensure he is on the ballot?

Yes when you see Colin Hart in there it does seem a little unfair.

Ingle in the Hall, well sure ok, but Why?

I certainly don't know all the great trainers, managers and so on of British boxing, BUT, and as this thread is dealing with honouring great contributors to British boxing, well long before the likes of Ingles, there was Ted Broadribb for instances who handled in one way shape or form British greats like, Farr, Mills, Johnny Williams and God knows who else.

that's the problem today, just because people are still alive, active and in colour it automatically places them over all others before them.

HOW & Why?

Nice sentiment but you shouldn't blow too much smoke up people's arses whilst they are still alive. It's not British.
