Not long ago, Wlad said that he wanted to remain champion for 10 more years. If he tries that, then he will take a loss.
But I think he can go 5 years easy.

Depends how the likes of Joshua progress. If they cannot surpass the level of recent challengers then yeah I agree, Wlad could reign for another five years.SportsRatings wrote:Not long ago, Wlad said that he wanted to remain champion for 10 more years. If he tries that, then he will take a loss.

On the condition of Wlad sticking around for a guaranteed 5 years more, if I was given say 4/1 on Joshua fighting and beating him in that timeframe I would take it in a heartbeat.lillywhite14 wrote:Depends how the likes of Joshua progress. there is no way Eddie hearn will throw him in with Wladimir.
When Wlad retired, Eddie will go down the IBF route for Joshua and build him up for a Wembley Fight

I would give you evens at best! I think Joshua will surpass the level of recent contenders and if Wlad sticks around, Joshua will be the one to take the title from him.Riddick Blowe wrote:On the condition of Wlad sticking around for a guaranteed 5 years more, if I was given say 4/1 on Joshua fighting and beating him in that timeframe I would take it in a heartbeat.lillywhite14 wrote:Depends how the likes of Joshua progress. Thinking about it, Wlad might not even have to stick around all that long, Joshua could be ready in 18 months.
Re: i believe wlad will not retire without another loss.
its nothing to due with AJ or WK
its down to Eddie hearn. Eddie known joshua is young as would rather AJ dominate for years like Wladimir.
He knows build AJ for britush title, defend it, add commenwelath title and then go for european title defend and then start for titles
EDDIE is quite a good matchmaker, he knows, thats why he looking to et josesito lopez/berto for kell brook![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

Sounds about right . . .Othro wrote:Klitschko will be champ until he's 57 by then Wilder will be 108-0 (108) and ready to take the step up and defeat Klitschko .

If Wlad beats Wilder/Stiverne, Jennings, Fury, and Pulev, does he become #1 P4P?
Let's say Floyd retires in late 2015-early 2016, and Wlad beats everyone listed above.

It depends on how Rigo, Ward, GGG, Kovalev, Lomachenko and others perform.VG_Addict wrote:If Wlad beats Wilder/Stiverne, Jennings, Fury, and Pulev, does he become #1 P4P?

I would call him #1 but for whatever reason he doesn't get his credit. He's only beating the hell out of whoever is in front of him.VG_Addict wrote:If Wlad beats Wilder/Stiverne, Jennings, Fury, and Pulev, does he become #1 P4P?

Well, come on now. Let's call it what is really is. He's "hugging then beating" the hell out of the fighters in front of him.Othro wrote:I would call him #1 but for whatever reason he doesn't get his credit. Very true. But based on how effective Vitali remained into his early 40s we can assume Wlad will do the same.man wrote:some of you talked about five more years. this is

And thinking back to August, 2009, how many times has Wlad even been *hit* ? I can remember about 3 times, twice by Tony Thompson and once by Haye.
But seriously, never before has a heavyweight champ avoided damage the way he has in the last 7-8 years. And he's just so far ahead of the field I don't see them catching up until he ages.

age wise wlad is in his twenties. hell, not even
when he was knocked out he really took many
(if any) big shots.
but that is on the other hand exactly my point.
what will happen, once he does get hit? and
from what i can remember, vitali took quite some
shots and he could handle it mentally as well as
any boxer.
one right hand by a fearless man is enough. this
is pretty unprecedented in hw-history as well: a
champ that by all means must avoid being … hit.

To beat Wladimir you'd have to be roughly the same height as him. I know Brewster did it and he was smaller than Wladimir but I blamed Wladimir for that lose. He admitted he wanted to put on a show and gassed himself in the process. Brewster saw the opportunity and took it. The rematch is how the first fight should've been. Anyway no one beats Wladimir unless they're 6'5+ and can take a punch.cold187 wrote:lets see what happens
Wilder is hoping to blow away Stiverne or he will realize what a big big step up in class it is from firtha/gavern/greer
I actually think CARLOS Takam will have a good chance vs Wladimir as he comes forward with a high work rate. however im looking forward to his fight vs povetkin, gonna be explosive i feel!!!!!!
and on a serious note, I really feel cuban Luis Ortiz is the type of guy that will cause Wladimir problemd with his style!!!

What about a small but very fast inside fighter with a strong punch?G.McClellan wrote:To beat Wladimir you'd have to be roughly the same height as him. Re: i believe wlad will not retire without another loss.
I think barring Injury, Wlad could easily go another 3-4 years without getting beaten. There's a number of factors at play.
Experience - Wlad is SO much more experienced that pretty much every single genuine contender out there, he's had more title fights than many of them have had fights full stop.
His style is very cautious, and he doesn't get hit a lot - Wlad has mastered being just that half step out of range, and with his height and reach, it's almost impossible for all but the biggest of men to hit him, without taking a jab in the mush before they get the chance. He is also very economical - so he doesn't use a lot of gas.
Wlad also has phenomenal power as and when he chooses to use it, if he needs to get someone out of there, he is more than capable of doing so, and that's a huge asset, and as we see, punchpower is usually the last thing to go.
Wlad also has a Phd in sports science, he treats his body exceptionally well, and clearly trains very well and very sensibly. Despite his large number of fights, there's no real signs of wear and tear.
Wlad is deceptively fast for a big man - I remember everyone going on about Haye would be too quick, but Wlad beat him to the punch consistently. He throws quick short straight shots in the main, which means they land quickly on opponents.
Obviously there's always the chance that someone lands a bomb and takes him out - but there's been that chance in every fight since he lost to Brewster, and nobody has come anywhere near close to doing so.
I think Wilder, if he gets his shot, will get demolished. Watch what happens the first time Wlad lands one of those ramrod jabs, and watch the reaction. Like everyone else he will get jabbed into submission, become negative, then passive, the finally get his ass whupped over several painful rounds.
I think Wlad will retire before he gets old enough where injury and declining reflexes take their toll.
