Andre Dirrell never fought Bika, dude.zxhoopaem wrote:I am a great fan on Andre Dirrel being that he is a great fighter and also is from Michigan, like am I. Re: ANTHONY dirrel's last fight....
It was an ugly fight but I don't think Dirrell performed poorly. He outclassed Bika at times, wobbled him on multiple occasions, and in my view won 8-9 rounds, only dropping those that he seemed to take off. He also fought more aggressively compared to the first bout, suggesting to me that he realized why he initially fell short.
I don't think he's as good as his brother, but he's still fast, has decent pop and quick reflexes, and seems more willing to exchange than Andre is, though his reaction to Bika hitting him while he was going down elicited memories of Andre-Abraham.

The Dog has more heart, and that goes a long way.crusader wrote:

Horrified!!!? I wouldn't say Anthony did that bad, I think Andre would do better though. Bika is a very tough fight for any top ten guy at super middleweight

Re: ANTHONY dirrel's last fight....
I've been following the Dirrell brothers since their amateur days & Andre has always been by far the more talented guy. I think the fact Anthony has been able to fight for & win a title is pretty f#cking good all things considered. The bottom line is that even though Andre is the more talented guy, Anthony beat him to a title so its not like the guy sucks & Sakio is a solid guy.zxhoopaem wrote:I am a great fan on Andre Dirrel being that he is a great fighter and also is from Michigan, like am I. Re: ANTHONY dirrel's last fight....
Bika has often been roughly #5 in the division in years' past and been considered borderline worth of carrying a belt. His only legitimate losses in the last 11 years had been against Calzaghe, Ward, and Bute; he dominated Mendy in actuality and has many other solid wins. The fact that Dirrell beat Bika, and the fact that Dirrell improved over his previous performance against Bika, are both good signs. I would say that it's fairly clear that Dirrell deserves to carry a belt, though he's certainly not looking elite at the moment.
