I was looking at the record of '60s - '70s Mexican bantamweight Rogelio Lara and noticed a peculiarity on September 15th 1973. It said he stopped some fighter named Jesus Rocha in 7, but on the very next day, also in Monterrey, boxrec has him stopping another Rocha (Victor) in 7 rounds. I recall the result at the time being Victor. Looking closer at the card (this was the first Ruben olivares - Art Hafey fight) it also has Saul Montana losing to Tarcisio 'Famosito' Gomez over 10. And the next day along with the Lara fight, Montana losing to Famosito's older brother Octavio 'Famoso' Gomez over 10. I tend to think the results from the 'card' on the 16th actually belongs on the 15th. I recall Lara stopping Victor Rocha and consulted my old RRB of '75. It was a mixed bag. It did show the results being Lara-Victor Rocha on the 15th and Montana-Octavio 'Famoso' Gomez on the same card. Of course, looking at RRB's Olivares-Hafey results didn't help. They had the date as September 4th. They were always very sloppy. I did verify that Olivares-Hafey was on the 15th, so we're solid on that one. But I'm sure there were not back to back cards in Monterrey with the same fighters.
On a side note, I discovered it was Olivares' manager (I think Pancho Rosales but not sure) that pushed him into the Hafey match. Apparently he wanted revenge for Famoso Gomez, whom he also managed. He felt he got a raw deal at the Forum and that Famoso's eye cut, which stopped the fight, was caused by a butt from Hafey. I mention all this because it would make sense Famoso being on the same card.
Mystery in Monterrey
Re: Mystery in Monterrey
You're correct about the fights belonging to the Sept. 15 card. Lara beat Victor Rocha, but Montana's opponent was reported as Famosito Gomez in the day-after report. The reported weight also fits Tarcisio Gomez better.

Thanks, Wouter. And you're right, Famoso was fighting at featherweight by this time.wouter wrote:You're correct about the fights belonging to the Sept. 15 card.
