Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
I just wanted people to know that Dennis Berry has posted video of some of his bouts on youtube; including the excellent Neil Sinclair bout which younger fans won't have seen.
Hope you enjoy them as much as me.
I'm sorry I can't post a link, I'm on a tablet thing, maybe someone could post one please.

Dennis always had a real bang on him.
Would love to see more fights like this on YouTube...

I was lucky enough to be ringside for a lot of his best fights. His record does not do him justice. He'd be a champion if he was fighting today. Hope he's doing well.

He would be a British champ at the least Muttley; he was fierce, game, fit and powerful - a really good fighter.Muttley wrote:I was lucky enough to be ringside for a lot of his best fights. His record does not do him justice. He'd be a champion if he was fighting today. Hope he's doing well.
Is that you, Young Muttley or his dad?
Re: Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
Dennis was a very good fighter, I think I filmed 11 of his fights
Re: Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
The first time I saw him was v Sinclair; was he as fierce in his bouts before that? He was more than a bit scary, a little Nigel Benn.ERIC GUY wrote:Dennis was a very good fighter, I think I filmed 11 of his fights

No not Young Muttley or his dad. Just someone that has been around the business a long time and appreciates good honest fighters.

Even with the knock downs I'm still amazed an away fighter got a decision off Barney Rubble!

Watching the Sinclair fight, I now remember watching it at the time. You wouldn't of thought Sinclair would of gone on to do what he did in the ring, he was some puncher.
Re: Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
He had a fierce left hook, his arms weren't at all strongly muscled, he had excellent technique.Old bones Ian wrote:Watching the Sinclair fight, I now remember watching it at the time. You wouldn't of thought Sinclair would of gone on to do what he did in the ring, he was some puncher.

How come Dennis never quite lived up to what was expected? for me he was a bit too wild in the ring.

Awesome ... Very dangerous. Solid wins over Clarke, Richardson, mcreesh and Sinclairpalooka wrote:He was a good fighter wasn't he Jeff?Jeff Thomas wrote:Wow Dennis berry there's a blast from the past ... Quality

I remember him, very dangerous but also very ragged at times. Real dangerman.
I've not seen that sinclair fight since I saw it on TV, he did well to last that 5th round!
Sinclair was good, he always had power with good speed but his chin sometimes let him down. I remember some ridiculous war he had with someone but can't remember who? I don't think it was Santos, although that was a wildly exciting fight before it ended in the 2nd.

That might be the Adrian Chase fight, Sinclair down in the first, comes back to down Chase twice in the same round, stopped Chase early in the 2nd
Re: Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
A man I know boxed Sinclair and said he didn't hit that hard; I didn't believe him as he was reluctant to give anyone credit (though he did say that Wayne Alexander was a very crisp hitter).
Re: Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
Ha. Crisp. Talk about understatement.
I met Wayne, he said the dude from Sierra Leone whose name escapes me (welsh, fought out of calzaghe camp, had that double
Knockdown fight with renda and had hair that looked like Krusty the clown) hit very, very hard.

Samuels v Alexander was a great fight, they shook each other in each round.
Samuels was unlucky in his 1st fight against Richard Williams

Re: Dennis Berry bouts on youtube
Definitely, on both counts.
I told Wayne that [at that point] I wanted Samuels to win, his face was priceless.
