Carl froch vs Jurgen Braehmer

Post by big lennox »

Braehmer is interested in a fight with Froch according to boxing scene. I can't see Froch stepping up to light heayweight when he is so strong at super middle. Pie in the sky from Braehmer?

I like Jurgen but he's off his head if he thinks Froch has time for him in his schedule, I reckon.

Maybe they were once on a collision course in 2006 but now eight years later, Brahmer has nowhere near fulfilled his promised potential and is not in anyone's thoughts.

The loss to Mario Veit can never be papered over.

Quote from fightnews.com article

"WBA light heavyweight world champion Jürgen Brähmer can’t wait to get in the ring for a super-duel against Britain’s Carl Froch. The current IBF super-middleweight world champion recently announced he is only interested in a really big fight – now Jürgen Brähmer, a famous name on the boxing scene known around the world, is challenging the Brit to a bout...."

Did Jurgen miss the part where it was mentioned that Froch is after a "big" fight? Perhaps he needs to acquaint himself with the definition of the word "big" or someone should explain his (lack of) market value

Did Jurgen write that particular sentence himself? That is some build up for a man that must be sitting at around no 42 on Froch's list of preferred opponents.

I'm not surprised, Braehmer's a light-heavyweight.

Braehmer is talented and is a good fighter and a southpaw to boot and up at LHW would give Froch problems and he has decent power but he loves a moan and can be easily distracted which would allow Froch to outwork him to take it on points, close ah la Andre Dirrell type of fight

Braehmer v Kovalev. They could promote it in this country as the Deutsch Matt Dawson vs the Russian Russ Abbot.

Braehmer beat Hatton twice I think, once by stoppage and once by decision.

Who wants to break it gently to our little teutonic friend that Santa does not exist and Carl Froch does not know or care a flying feck who he is?

You'll need to speak German and probably be a policeman with a warrant or a prison warder.....

Yes, why don't we all slag Ricky off for losing to the future light heavy Jurgen?

Good luck, he's no chance of getting the fight.

I think he actually lost twice to him.

Once was in Cuba (junior worlds?) and I think the other was some euro comp.

Ricky always had a bad time with southpaws. Magee dropped him first as a pro, Pac hammered him.

Funny but i'd have picked Hatton to edge Cotto and Tszyu at 140 - but I'd have no faith against Zab Judah who was lightening fast, powerful more importantly a southpaw.

Styles.

I know Ricky struggled with lefty's, I also think he's criminally underated on here.

Hatton, during his short peak was a beast at 140lb and especially with the MEN right behind him - he was not a cake walk for any fighter at all.

I have massive admiration for Ricky and all he did for boxing in 2004-2008 in perhaps the hottest division in a long time.
