Donaire-Walters on GGG undercard

Post by crusader »

Apparently Nonito Donaire-Nicholas Walters will precede GGG-Rubio in a very good opening bout.

The card is also called "Mexican Style" :OhYes:

Damn, that's a fvcking good fight.

Have we fallen through a timewarp? Is it the early 90s?

A decent undercard fight? Whatever next?

I really look forward to this. I believe Walter will fit Donaire a little bit better than Rigo.

Thats a massive fight, could be bigger then the main event. Garcia academy might come away with two big defeats from that affair.

Could be a good one, though I kinda suspect it'll be a short night in Donaire's favour ultimately. Being aggressive and not that hard to hit is to put yourself right where Donaire wants you and while the Vetyeka fight was problematic in some ways, it at least suggested that he has carried most of his power up with him to featherweight. Hopefully will be fun while it lasts either way.

Good fight. I hope some people give Donaire props for taking it as i've seen people (not on here) saying he would never fight Walters, he's a pussy, blah, blah, blah, and yet here he is taking the fight.

Donaire fights anyone ... the Mares situation was more a GBP/TR problem.

This is a tough fight for Nonito and I think he may he KO'ed. He's taken some big punches in his career and he has seemingly forgot how to box and defend himself. This might be a "who gets who first" type fight.

Indeed Walters is a massive puncher. In terms of punching power I would compare him to GGG or Mathysse. he is also tall and rangy. I believe though Donaire is faster. Big props to Donaire if he takes this fight.

Both guys deserve credit for taking this. There are a number of good fights to be made at 126, glad to see one of them being made. I favor Donaire here. He has a good chin, he is faster, more athletic, and just better skilled.

Seems a little quick for Walters, but hey, strike while the iron's hot.

I think he is more skilled too ... but I don't know if he's gonna fight like it.

It is hard to tell. Personally I hope he chooses to be aggressive for the sake of entertainment. I will probably have to buy tickets if the card gets even slightly better.

For some reason I thought this was on the Pacquiao under card..but found out today it is probably on a GGG undercard.
I think Walters beats Donaire, who I hasn't impressed me at 126.
