Will Bernard Hopkins still be fighting in world title fights
When he is 50+? If he manages to beat sergey will he carry on fighting into his 50s?

I'm pretty sure I remember him saying he plans to hang it up soon. He will be missed.

Can't imagine him retiring after a win or even a close loss.
Hopkins retirement will come when a ref pulls the plug on him to save him from further punishment in a lop-sided fight.

Could well be his next fight, even if kovalevs shots are only hittings arms I can see him breaking down popkins.

You would think he will retire sooner rather than later & as above said. I think when he gets a sound beating he will realise that it is time to go.

I think it is not going to be very hard to get him away from the ring after a lopsided loss. Although a lot of fighters like to blame their conditioning and camp being too distracting etc, etc. I think Hopkins has a more cerebral approach. He is his own destiny and he relies on himself to win big fights.
I wrote him off after the Calzaghe loss after seeing him on the canvas so many times, but he is just not done yet. We have not seen him against a volume puncher in a while. That is the only thing about Kovalev that is daunting. He is sort of like an Authur Abraham at times. Strong, willful, skilled, but measured. Sure he is getting the knockout, but not against Hopkins after the 9th round. By the 4th, Hopkins will know his arsenal and angles.

With his amazing genetics, training regimen and today's PED ensemble I expect him to go a few more yrs.

... and that will happen in November.pyenest77 wrote:You would think he will retire sooner rather than later & as above said. I think when he gets a sound beating he will realise that it is time to go.

I always laugh whenever I read someone throwing this at Hopkins, as if PEDS give you skills to beat younger and stronger fighters.diddy wrote:With his amazing genetics, training regimen and today's PED ensemble I expect him to go a few more yrs.

Do people want to PAY to watch Hopkins Fight?
"Yes": Next fight will occur with a semi-decent fighter that Hopkins will inevitably overwhelm with points win
"No": Next fight will occur as a tune up fight so B-Hop can knock him out to prove he has what it takes.
The final fight should be B-HOp vs. RJJ in a retirement home battling over Lime Jello.

I think its conceivable that the long run of Bernard Hopkins will end in November. If he loses and in one sided fashion I doubt he'll fight again.

I laugh even harder when I read someone that doesn't comprehend that the right PED's help every element of your game.Brut wrote:I always laugh whenever I read someone throwing this at Hopkins, as if PEDS give you skills to beat younger and stronger fighters.diddy wrote:With his amazing genetics, training regimen and today's PED ensemble I expect him to go a few more yrs.

It's funny that those same hypocritical people here stating Hopkins (a man who is a known Gym Rat and has never refused to do blood testing, cried about being afraid of needles and having blood drawn as an excuse not to test or take an asswhuppin) is using PEDS but these same Hypocrites say nothing of Manny Pacquiao.
lol, this forum is a riot.

As a dedicated and intelligent athletes age, they begin to master the game, for instance Barry Bonds. However, as they are finally mastering the game, their body simply cannot do the things that the mind knows it should. I think PEDs allow the master athlete to get that split second back which can make the difference between a home run or a fly out, or slipping a punch or getting KO'ed.
That being said, legendary athletes on PEDs would have been legendary without them. PEDs are prevalent among many guys who completely suck. There are tons of Division 3 athletes on PEDs and they still suck. There many fighters who will never rise above the club level who use PEDs but still suck horribly.
This is not to say I'm accusing Hopkins of being on PEDs. If he was, would I be surprised, no. But, I'm not comfortable automatically labeling an entire group of people guilty. It's just not a fair way to live for those labeled guilty.
