Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
I'm expecting this to get shot down as nonsense and no I don't currently have a printable source but I've been told this is very much in the pipeline unless Fast Eddie pulls something out of the bag quick.
I'm told Quigg and Gallagher are apparently extremely pissed about his current situation and Hearn is nowhere near the Frampton fight - Infact Barry won't deal with matchroom and wants the fight on BN which of course FW would be desperate to show and will sign Scott to facilitate it...
Again I will happy accept the flack in the interim and I will bump this thread when it starts to pan out...peace

Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
Whatever brings that fight closer is great by me.
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
It could set up a Rigo fight also.....
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
Don't think it would happen but I would love it to. All boxing fans would love it to happen as Warren would have Quigg, Frampton and Rigo under his BN banner and we can finally see these fights happen. Throw in his relationship with Hennasay who's got Galahad and it really would be a good thing for that division as Hearn is getting fighters from lower weight divisions to fight quigg instead of making the galahad fight. Hearn really has blown it with this division why not give warren a shot he cant do much worse?

4 no credible source
I may as well come on and say iv heard David haye is fighting mayweather I can't say where I have heard it but it's true

Barry M does not want to work with matchroom or at least Eddie = no frampton fight. So where does Quigg go if Eddie can't lNd the fight???righthook wrote:Not a chance

Have you seen Scott's contract or are you assuming that he has one or that it runs to say more then one fight.
Stop this nonsense about FW not paying fighters it's plan wrong
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
It's not wrong at all. There have been plenty of cases. In fact, without social media there would probably be another case of non payment going on right now.Manchester Hitman wrote:Barry M does not want to work with matchroom or at least Eddie = no frampton fight. How do you know Barry M won't work with Matchroom? He will surely do what makes the most money and exposure for him and his fighter.
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
As I understand it, Eddie openly stated that he sees Barry's role as manager and promoter of Frampton as conflicting interests. Reading between the lines, it would appear that Barry is looking for more money than Eddie is ready/willing/able to put up to make the deal happen.

Yes, I am Aware there has been cases of people being paid late on occasions I am objecting to the poster trying to make it out that happens all the time with all of franks kids which is wrong.
The likes of Curtis woodhouse flapping his gums on twitter about not being paid after he has retired should not be enough for people to just jump on bandwagons.
As I said in my original post that's what I've been told but it's not a printable source at this moment - all this is likely to be revealed in the coming months - what I can say is that Eddie is currently using an advisor to conduct discussions with cyclone as Barry doesn't talk to him directly.
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
This, Barry wants a piece of the pie himself, if it was all about exposure he wouldn't have taken Frampton to be watched by three men and a dog on BN. Shame because he has all the tools to be a big star outside of Ireland. Let's hope Quigg does move over and we see the fight happen, Quigg can't keep avoiding world class opponents, even if his belt is worthless.Sklar wrote:As I understand it, Eddie openly stated that he sees Barry's role as manager and promoter of Frampton as conflicting interests. Going off what Eddie Hearn has been saying Leo Santa Cruz was avoiding Scott and were happy to fight on the Floyd card.Flump wrote:This, Barry wants a piece of the pie himself, if it was all about exposure he wouldn't have taken Frampton to be watched by three men and a dog on BN. Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
Funny how Frampton's been selling out arenas since he left and Eddie wanted to put him on a debutants undercard, he's already a star in Belfast, elsewhere is the next step. If they really wanted exposure they would have gone looking for a terrestrial TV deal, boxing on Sky hardly pulls big viewing figures. It was nothing to do with Barry wanting a piece of the pie, he already had one, it allowed him to take full control of Frampton's career without giving Hearn the chance to fornicate things up. And the man that really matters in all of this, Carl Frampton, seems pretty happy with the way things are going, world title fight in his backyard in front of 16,000 people sounds good to me, he's obviously happy with how much he's being paid and the way his career is being guided.Flump wrote:This, Barry wants a piece of the pie himself, if it was all about exposure he wouldn't have taken Frampton to be watched by three men and a dog on BN. I was skeptical and critical when McGuigan took over. Frampton said that matchroom made them a reasonable offer to fight Quigg,McGuigan said "let's talk" and Eddie never got back in touch
That suggests to team Frampton that Matchroom were calling their bluff

Eddie would say that though to be fair.Naandrew wrote:Going off what Eddie Hearn has been saying Leo Santa Cruz was avoiding Scott and were happy to fight on the Floyd card.Flump wrote:This, Barry wants a piece of the pie himself, if it was all about exposure he wouldn't have taken Frampton to be watched by three men and a dog on BN. They've done a fantastic job with him so far, to bring a world champion over and then build an arena to stage the fight takes some doing.DMA1987 wrote:I was skeptical and critical when McGuigan took over. I can see where Hearn's coming from with the manager/promoter conflict of interest thing and in some cases that's clearly the case, but in this one I think it's competely irrelevant, Carl seems to have become a part of the McGuigan family, Barry as the promoter, Shane as trainer, Blain and Jake work behind the scenes and the rest of the family help where they can, he clearly trusts them with his career, obviously not forgetting the input of Gerry Storey, who does seem to be the forgotten man of the team.
Even in other situations I think it's possible for manager and promoter to be the same man, it can be beneficial to both promoter and fighter. For the promoter it makes life easier, they have much more control over things and for the fighter it can save them money, I don't think the promoter should be allowed to take the 25% managers cut unless the fighter's on another promoters show, if it's done like that then the fighter keeps an extra 25% of his purse. It only works though if the fighter is strong enough and smart enough to stand up for themselves in negotiations and get a fair deal, otherwise promoters can take advantage of them.
Then there's doing what Don King did, which is quite frankly despicable and simply thieving money from fighters, but in the US the law bans manager and promoter being the same man and he still got around it, the solution to that isn't laws or rules, simply a life ban, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near boxing anymore.
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
Fair comment, he's massive in Ireland and McGuigan's profile is certainly helping. It's the next step bit that worries me because he has the ability and humble personality to be a crossover star beyond Ireland, but it'll never happen while effectively nobody outside of hardcore fans gets to see him fight.expe wrote:Funny how Frampton's been selling out arenas since he left and Eddie wanted to put him on a debutants undercard, he's already a star in Belfast, elsewhere is the next step. He's already been linked to Leo Santa Cruz several times.
I think the fight will happen; Santa Cruz has mentioned Frampton in several interviews. Beating Santa Cruz would make him the official no.2 behind Rigo and do wonders for his profile.

Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
He was mentioned until he took out Cazares, became mandatory, then everything went quiet and they decided they wanted a voluntary or two before fighting him. I'm sure Santa Cruz would fight him, but his team don't seem too keen right now. If he isn't already #2 in the division then he will be if he beats Martinez again.black panther wrote:He's already been linked to Leo Santa Cruz several times.

Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
Barry did want a piece of the pie, but it was Barry who did all the hard yards building Frampton and selling the tickets. All Eddie brought was the Sky date.
After Frampton KO'd Martinez, Eddie offered him a spot on Luke Campbell's undercard for small money. Barry called his bluff, walked off to allegedly, and it has worked for him.
One of them is going to be fighting in front of 16,000 fans for a genuine world title, one is going to be fighting another sub in front of 5,000 for a "regular" world title (which he never won in the ring).
Classic example of Sky dropping a bollock by giving Matchroom all their budget.
If Frampton wins, he has to fight the mandatory, so Frampton-Quigg won't happen until next year at the earliest. No way Santa Cruz fights Quigg, they will just keep milking the title until they can get the Frampton fight.

Good point. Sky would love to show Frampton vs Martinez, it is exactly the sort of show they want. It is relevant, important, and should be a cracker. It will make more compelling viewing that watching all the matchroom house fighters pad their records on a one-sided show.gobbles wrote:Barry did want a piece of the pie, but it was Barry who did all the hard yards building Frampton and selling the tickets.
