Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
I dont believe any fighter with any ambition at all would ever wan to fight for warren. he has nothing at all to offer.
a channel that only boxing purists buy so you would never get any exposure.
a very good chance of not getting paid
a paper thin stable with maybe 1 or 2 big names
am i missing anything?
for the record i really like framton but if he was with sky he would be getting allot more tv time and exposure. Eddie should have kept him and done a better job working with him but i still think he should have give eddie a bit more time to make him a house hold name to the none hardcore boxing fans

Have you seen Scott's contract or are you assuming that he has one or that it runs to say more then one fight.
Stop this nonsense about FW not paying fighters it's plan wrong
First of all our point about where does quigg go if he doesnt fight framton i could easily just say where does framton go if he doesnt fight quigg. so that point is awful
second are you serious?????? frank is known for not paying more than a hand full of fighters never mind one or two. why do u think all his fighters left him?????
are u frank?????????
If Frank is so bad though, why do fighters still deal with him full stop?
the reason they still deal with him is because it is better to go with him than no promoter at all but look at it like this if you was a footballer u would want to play in the prem but if someone said well no prem club wants you but a championship club does then you would take that wouldnt u.
look at burns bellew cleverly smith there just a few names who have ditched him for eddie. why do you believe they did that ??????

Frampton will be IBF champion, fights top of the bill infront of 15k+ It's only a matter of time before the Americans come calling - no homo but he's a decent looking exciting Irish kid - he would be big news on the east cost of America.righthook wrote:First of all our point about where does quigg go if he doesnt fight framton i could easily just say where does framton go if he doesnt fight quigg. so that point is awfulManchester Hitman wrote:Barry M does not want to work with matchroom or at least Eddie = no frampton fight. If for some reason he can't get the LSC's then he can fight IBF bums and still rake it in...as for Quigg he is basically in the opposite position.
Not paying fighters and paying then late occasionally are to different things. The vast majority of his kids are loyal to frank as he pays the most our of all promoters so they don't mind waiting. Don't try to make out that he just randomly shafts his kids that is just wrong,
Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
Frampton will have a world title and can sell 15,000+ tickets in Belfast, Quigg has no title and struggles to draw 5,000 in Manchester, not to mention that Frampton's the better fighter, with more potential to be a crossover star and less miles on the clock. Carl Frampton doesn't need Scott Quigg one bit, he can go to America and make a name for himself there, he can fight here in England, he can fight in Dublin, they could sit on the title in Belfast for a couple of years and let the money roll in if they wanted to, his options are endless, he can fight anyone in the division and possibly bar Santa Cruz, bring all of them to Belfast. What options does Scott Quigg have? Carry on fighting bantamweights in a half empty arena with no title on the line? Santa Cruz doesn't seem interested, he could fight Rigo but his team are scared to mention his name. Maybe he could fight Galahad and win the European title, make some decent money in the process, then go looking for a world title. But none of those involve a realistic chance of winning a world title or the money he would make fighting Frampton.righthook wrote:First of all our point about where does quigg go if he doesnt fight framton i could easily just say where does framton go if he doesnt fight quigg. so that point is awfulManchester Hitman wrote:Barry M does not want to work with matchroom or at least Eddie = no frampton fight. Name me one fighter that wasn't paid? That doesn't include those who were paid late or are in the process of going through legal proceedings, until the courts rule that they weren't paid what they were owed then you can't take the word of one over the other. And provide some evidence of them not being paid, instead of making wild claims.
And being under contract didn't seem to bother anyone that left VVarren, especially your mate Bomber, so why should it bother when leaving Hearn?

Oh my lord I can't believe some of the stuff on here.
Wazza has reneged on payments several times that is a matter of public record.
Quigg is under contract.
It's ok Barry giving it large - but what about Quigg's manager Paul Speak does he not have a say ?
If all parties want it to happen it will. However I fear it won't.

Frampton is in a better position being the champion no doubt about that but quigg doesnt need frampton to progress his career. imsure eddie will be able to get him up the rankings and fight for a title himself. lets not forget framton has a hard fight coming up and if he got beat then all that argument you used would be worthless.
As for the fighters not being paid then do yourself a favor and wake up and smell the coffee. you just ask woodhouse about his money. and let me tell you something else i know of at least 3 other boxers and i mean i personally know through speaking to them not what iv heard of people, and they never got paid and are going through legal procedures . i will not say there names but that is the reason the 3 of them left. how many boxers have come on social media saying they never got paid, ???? maybe 5/6 and how many of eddies fighters say the same???????? i dont know how you could defend him when people are putting there lives on the line and receiving nothing. he has a contract with them and all fights over a certain amount i believe it is £10.000 have to be paid with in 5 working days. what he is doing is is rock bottom and i bet if you never got paid after one week in your work you would go mental so imagine the fighters waiting months and spending money on training camps to get multiple cheques bounce.
Its people like you who support what hes doing and say innocent until proven guilty that encourage him to keep not paying fighters

Maybe he could start paying them in free BN subscriptions. Like, "I can't pay your purse but you can have free subscription to my channel until 2088".

Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
The Warren matter is a side issue, because Frampton is promoted by McGuigan and I am sure he is getting paid. The point is, who has had the better career since Quigg joined Hearn and Frampton left Hearn?
No one really considers Quigg a real world champion. Rigo is the real WBA champion, Quigg was given his belt, then drew with the guy he should have faced for the vacant belt, but him and Gallagher were happy to say they were the real champion because they "believe" they really won. There should have been a rematch - Salinas lost in July, but Quigg had two more fights before that - but they didn't fancy it.
Frampton, if he wins on Saturday, is in a great position. Proper title, huge crowd, nation behind him. America loves the Irish. Beat Martinez (again) and he is a superstar.
I'm sure McGuigan would deal with Hearn, but he is not going to go some 50-50 deal. Why should he?

Some excellent points here. I'm slightly surprised at how crap Quigg's "reign" has turned out to be. Holding the interim belt and fighting two late sub's back to back is a poor show. From my armchair perspective, Matchroom are treating Quigg and his title as a pawn in their game, rather than building him as a world champ. I am sick to death of hearing Eddie talk up big name opponents. In fairness to Fwank, he's broke, so he has an excuse. Eddie hasn't. Get some decent opponents Eddie, for fxxks sake.gobbles wrote:The Warren matter is a side issue, because Frampton is promoted by McGuigan and I am sure he is getting paid. This thread is supposed to be about Quigg going to Warren but it spiraled into good old scrap about Frampton leaving Eddie.
In my opinion this is not happening. Purely from the busyness standpoint it doesn't make sense. You would not want to take a step down to a lesser outfit just to have one fight. What if he losses to Frampton he would have nowhere to go. Even if he wins, Warren is less likely to give him big fights then Eddie. Unless there is some personal relationship issue, I doubt Quigg would leave Matchroom.

Re: Quigg will sign with Warren within 6 months.....
I agree but I think the rivalry between the two promotional camps can give rise to Fwank making exceptional, over the odds offers to entice fighters to join him. His column last week (on his website, no longer in the Sun) bragged about the strength of his stable, and I felt for him a bit - its the worst stable he's had in living memory. I felt he was bigging it up to save face. In the normal scheme of things it would not make sense to give inflated offers to boxers but I think Fwank may do it because these are exceptional times for him. So yes normally a boxer would not want to move from the platform of Sky to the platform of BN, however ultimately what would swing it is the financial terms and if there is a bigger concrete offer on the table, most fighters would consider it seriously. I remember when Fwank signed Derry Matthews, it was a 4 or 5 fight deal for good money and a world title fight at the end of it. You didn't have to be the brain of Britain to work out the deal would never come off because Derry wouldn't win all those fights. Fwank didn't sign him to build him towards a world title fight, he signed him for some good domestic 50/50 battles.Tarkus wrote:This thread is supposed to be about Quigg going to Warren but it spiraled into good old scrap about Frampton leaving Eddie.

Cant see Quigg going to Warren, Gallagher gets favours from Eddie such as Hosea Burton showcased on the Matchroom Manchester shows

Thats a good point there Jim. Maybe he pays through the nose to once again put on a genuinely big show.

So Quigg's going to fight for a world title then, if it isn't Frampton, who will it be? They wouldn't let him anywhere near Rigo, so his only other option is to go off to the US to fight Santa Cruz and I don't get the feeling they fancy fighting him either.righthook wrote:Frampton is in a better position being the champion no doubt about that but quigg doesnt need frampton to progress his career. imsure eddie will be able to get him up the rankings and fight for a title himself. lets not forget framton has a hard fight coming up and if he got beat then all that argument you used would be worthless.

Curtis was paid, but incredibly late, which isn't right but there's a difference between that and not at all. Like I said, not fighters that are going through legal proceeding, as the non payment is obviously disputed, so it's for the court to decide.
I did some work a couple of weeks ago actually, I haven't been paid yet and I'm not expecting to be for at least another 2 weeks, this was explained to me at the time, don't have a problem with it at all. I also did some work for my Dad around the same time, not expecting to be paid at all for that because he can't afford to, again I was told that before I started. So no I wouldn't be going mental after a week without pay.
Innocent until proven guilty is one of the most basic requirements of any fair legal system, surely of all people a scouser would be in favour of that

On the flipside not being paid on time would be a breach of contract. You being told you'd be paid on X date would have been agreed and you'll be getting paid on X date. Being told you were being paid on X date and then being paid weeks later is surely admitting fault on the behalf of the payee?expe wrote: I did some work a couple of weeks ago actually, I haven't been paid yet and I'm not expecting to be for at least another 2 weeks, this was explained to me at the time, don't have a problem with it at all.
