British Boxing Matchmaking Grading System

Looking at a way to rank the cards that our made in the UK throughout the year. Each card will get a rating out of 25 before the fights take place, and 25 after the card takes place. It will be based on 4 fights for each bill, with 3 undercard fights being rated out of 10. The Main Event score will be doubled and scored out of 20.

The Criteria

World Level - Between two guys in the top 10-15 of their division
Competitive - The winner is not virtually guaranteed
Meaningful - Fight is happening for a reason
Progressive - Leads to other big fights in the future

5 Points - World Level, Competitive, Meaningful & Progressive (Martinez v Frampton II)
4 Points - British Level & Above, Competitive, Meaningful & Progressive (Selby v Brunker)
3 Points - Competitive, Meaningful & Progressive (Goddings v Cardle)
2 Points - One of Competitive, Meaningful or Progressive (Quigg v Jamoye)
1 Point - None of the above (Smith v Sarabia)

After the fight

5 Star - FOTY Candidate (Coyle v Brizuela)
4 Star - Highly Skilled, Competitive & Entertaining (Froch v Groves II)
3 Star - Competitive & Highly Skilled/Entertaining (Rees v Buckland II)
2 Star - Competitive or Entertaining (Selby v Koaschia)
1 Star - None of the above (Mitchell v Avakyani)

All main event scores will be doubled and marked out of 10.
