If he does box for Maloney, maybe vs big john for the English or something? Five would hype it up. I wouldn't begrudge Audley a few domestic pay days providing he doesn't start talking world titles. Thing is he can do a job at a certain level. I've long been frustrated as to why he paws his jab, it baffles me.

I agree, when ever he talks about Anything part from his boxing career, he's a really sensible and a nice bloke,

Why has he not ever had a go at the British recently, or the English, once Joshua steps up he may be ok at domestic level

I thought his 2nd prizefighter (3 fights) was wedged between the British loss (against Price) , and his last fight against Wilder?

he was on saying last night how he'd won 200k on the Poker tour after he'd stopped boxing - but also how he'd lost about 400k - he laughed about it. He said he's done weed and coke in his time and kicked them, but he said the online Poker thing had him in its grip. He said he doesn't do it any more cos he realised even if he became a Poker "star", it wouldn't replace his boxing buzz.

I've gone full circle with Audley, I think he's a nice guy, so much so I got sucked into his latest comeback and cheered him into the ring in Sheffield last year only for him to do nowt!

Maloney was just lounging about talking just like Frank, with a wig on. Next news he was playing and chatting to a teddy bear by himself. Very flipping bizarre....

That quote is up there with his Olympic Gold in terms of my respect for him.

What's more bizarre is that people are watching him do it on TV.

haha, good try. Actually there were three things on at the same time that I wanted to watch, which is typical as I hardly watch tele. Castles In The Sky with Eddie Izzard is what I watched, but I was also interested in Educating The East End and something else that escapes me. I merely saw a bit of BB whilst trying to check out each of my progs. The bit on Audley was very interesting to me so I stayed with it....I only saw about 4 seconds of Kellie playing with her teddy :D

The Reid v Watson fight was on CH5 at 9:00 pm hardly an obscure channel.
I think Audley will definitely be up for a big event after this with Maloney promoting... its all a bit too coincidental that the BB thing came so quick on the heels of Maloney's surgery etc...
I have done a bit of work in Reality TV and its anything but unscripted.
The opportunity to make some cash off the back of this show will be too great and ANY promoter would see it.
On the plus side, hopefully we will all get treated to a good fight between Audley and ???? any guesses anyone??

It was on the now defunct Bravo, and it started at 10pm. You are mistaken.

Audley is going to make more money than Nigel Benn with less fuss, and actually after reading my book i stand up and applaud fraudley hes got a fcuking good business head on. We will think of Nigel Benn, Mclennan and watson and Eubank but he will not have made as much dough as fraudly, its all marketing. Stand up and aplaud fraudldy because WE are giving him our money for doing fcuk all. Amen

I want to see Audley have one fight on Channel 5, just so he can say he fought on BBC, ITV, Channel 5. Actually, now I think about it, he's fought on allegedly, Sky Sports and even PPV. Channel 5 just needed for the full set.

Maybe they could get him on the Klitschko undercard. Or sat in the studio with Tyson Fury.

Oh yes my mistake, they didn't start on ch5 until after the Bravo ch went south.

and FWIW, MMA in my opinion will never make it main stream in the UK... in the Reid v Watson fight, the focus was on Katie Price more than the fight itself. I was sat cage side for that one and the amount of people that were trying to get pics of her and not interested in the fight itself was laughable! Even the security team had trouble containing them. Of the many problems with MMA, there is already far too much negative publicity around it and the "sport" itself is no where near as viewer friendly as boxing. The crowds are very different, the fighters are different and the fact that there is no regulation degrades it even further.

Most people involved in MMA are entirely deluded into thinking that it will overtake boxing and it is the next big thing... but fact is it just won't!

Danny Williams was correct all the way back in 2001.... when Audley had only just turned pro

He called Audley a 'Celebrity boxer'.
Audley is cashing in non-boxing ventures wherever he can.
Just like many other CBB contestants... his heyday was a long time ago (in 2000 for Aud)

Will always be a 'what if' with Audely. He had the ability to be up there, the balls to get in there, but while in there, he just feckin froze on so many occasions !! He is a nice man though, came across very well on that CBB.

Now, what's next? Can the coming media frenzy whip up that world title fight? You know anything is possible these days :o

That 'celebrity boxer' rearranged Danny's features and stopped him in his tracks then knocked Sprott out cold with arm. Also undefeated prize fighter champion
He had his share of glory since winning Olympic gold.

Out of interest, how much of a frenzy does Big Brother command now? There's obviously still a market for it, but didn't it get dropped by Channel 4 for losing a lot of fans?

Yep Channel 5 bought the rights a couple of years ago, they have one proper series a year and 2 celeb ones, thats 5 months of the whole year of BB everyday :o

5 clearlys struggling to fill their slots,i never watched it in years but have watched the last 2 celeb 1's

I'm a Celeb on the other hand is excellent viewing and one of which im not ashamed(as much) for watching

Boxers do tend to take themselves quite seriously though on these reality shows, off the top of my head,Benn,Bugner and Haye have done IAC and Eubank and Audley have done BB,they all came across well enough,i never seen Benn or Eubank but i imagine they came across the way the way they were already portrayed, intimidating and pompus respectively,Haye and Audley seem very similar

I just ask, because I wondered how much chance Audley has of getting a fight off the back of this? Might be able to get a couple of fights with Hennessy, based on the fact that it's on Channel 5. Might have some cross over appeal.

What I was really driving at is, is Big Brother popular enough for Audley to get any fights that aren't on Channel Five? I can't imagine Hearn or Warren rushing in just because he was in Big Brother. But Hennessy may be interested.

Given that kellie Maloney was also in the house, it's more likely they will do something together.

ouch. i remember when it could have been said that Hennessy had the best stable in British boxing, or close to it.

now he's only good for sweeping up the c-list celebrity circuit fodder.

still, i do seem to recall him promoting a female contest- an awful, awful contest- where one of the boxers was an ex-BB participant. i think it was at yourk hall. U/C of Cleverley - McIntosh, i think it was.

so, ummm, he brought it upon himself, really.
