Khan's chin.

Post by VG_Addict »

Is it really as bad as people say? He got hit on the temple against Prescott, Garcia hit him on the neck, and he lost his balance against Diaz. He took some huge shots from Maidana.

:OhYes:
But actually I don't think his chin is that bad his defense was just horrible

Do you think his chin has improved since moving up to WW?

His chin isn't good, but it isn't terrible. All those guys can hit, and as you say, he took a lot off Maidana. His problem is he isn't smart enough in the ring to do the right things when he gets hurt, and he gets hurt a lot. You can't fault his heart, though.

Turn it in. He has been wobbled in many fights going back to when the first signs of weakness shown in the ABA's v Craig Watson-the term "chin" doesnt refer to the actual chin, just a generic weakness in taking head shots.

It speaks volumes for Khans courage and entertainment value he is still at the top but it cannot go on for too much longer...imo....

You can't train a chin.

Khan blamed his weak chin on cutting too much weight when he was at 135, and said he wouldn't have that problem at 140.

Khan blamed his weak chin on cutting too much weight when he was at 140, and said he wouldn't have that problem at 147.

In a few more years will we be hearing the same thing when he moves to 154?

I don't think his chin is as bad as it has been made out to be. I think his defence isn't as strong as it could be and when he gets hurt he needs to take a step back instead of getting into a brawl.

Good post. But he's only been ko'd by legitimate bangers. So with good matchmaking he can stretch his career out a bit.

khan has a british level chin but he's fighting world class fighters , for me it's as much that khan did/does like to trade shots and beat people to the punch with his speed but this leaves him open to taking shots himself and these are the shots that hurt khan.

I agree with this to answer your question VG, although there may be something to the weight drained argument as Khan is quite tall and has a wide upper body.
