I haven't found any new about the fight weight-in. Does anybody know how did it go?
Re: Gary Cornish vs Larry Olubamiwo weight-in

Re: Gary Cornish vs Larry Olubamiwo weight-in
Weigh in went ok all of the fighters made the weight without any problems. Gary weighed in at 17 stone plus and Larry weighed in at over 18 stones.
Larry O was a bit strange though!! They had a little press conference about the fights and when he was asked where his career would go and what titles this could open up for him if he beat Gary tonight he starting talking about doing drama and acting etc he has no interest in titles and this isn't his choice of career but it just helps him prepare for his acting career.
I hope he goes out and tries to at least have a go but you could see everybody in the room were thinking he is just turning up for a payday!!

Subtle as a sledgehammer. I wonder if he'll borrow Tom Daley's trunks.David McAllister wrote:Larry O was a bit strange though!! This is a really poor match up but at least it's another non Latvian on the CV.

He's been looking to get into acting for years, it's no real shock? He was trying to get the role of war machine a few years back.

Too bad he can't play the role of a decent boxerorbtastic wrote:He's been looking to get into acting for years, it's no real shock? He was trying to get the role of war machine a few years back.

It wasn't just the acting stuff mate, he genuinely didn't look interested !!! I hope it is all a part of his acting and he will be well up for it but I fear he will just look to justify getting paid.orbtastic wrote:He's been looking to get into acting for years, it's no real shock? Oh I don't doubt that, I think everyone knows his career's in freefall. To be fair in his second to last fight he gave it a good go but just got chinned and the ref stopped it. I've no idea what happened in his last.

Re: Gary Cornish vs Larry Olubamiwo weight-in
cornish won on points
Re: Gary Cornish vs Larry Olubamiwo weight-in
it doesn't impress if Cornish couldn't stop a late substitute in Larry .

Re: Gary Cornish vs Larry Olubamiwo weight-in
In Gary's defence Larry O was very very negative and covered up well!! He has defo been working on his defence to maybe earn a bit more cash as a durable journeyman but he never tried to win imo. I would have liked to see Gary have a better range of punches but it really looked he is improving and regardless of his pro record this is still only his 27th/28th career bout amateur and pro!!
Sexton and Lewison would both have told us more about Gary and i would still like to see him get a bout against either one of these or maybe even John McDermott just to see if how he operates against someone that will be trying to win unlike big Larry O last night.
