The number of fighters in a division should be utterly irrelevant. What if 800 of the 1057 heavyweights have 0-75 records? Why should the number of fighters in a division be relevant? You never hear anyone say flyweight sucks and Roman is the best of a shitty division because it isn't actually true. The flyweight top 20 is as good or better than any other division. Meanwhile, the heavyweights suck so bad I seldom watch them. Maybe there are more heavyweights than flyweights because there are more fat fvcks in boxing.Lackeos wrote:When people talk about the heavyweight division, they say it's worse than previous eras because of smaller talent pool. Just saying, the argument about size of talent pool needs to cut both ways, or it needs to die for good.
Roman Gonzalez P4P.

Re: Roman Gonzalez P4P.
The question is why did some of Gonzalez' opponents have such low boxrec ratings in the first place? Does the point system give Gonzalez fewer points for beating some 35-5, top 25 flyweight than it does for a dud like Tacam for beating a similar 35-5, to 25 heavyweight in a weak era?Lackeos wrote:-Prior to Yaegashi, Roman's opponents really did have some low boxrec ratings. Only a few of them had over 100 points. At light flyweight, 100 points is roughly the top 15 threshold. So he really hasn't defeated very many divisional top 15ikorolev wrote:The point is: Roman has a perfect 40-0 record, is the best in his division and has 3 wins over top 5 fighters in his division. Why the hell is his point rating so low that he is below Tacam, Mchunu, Postol, etc. ?
And do you believe Tacam, Mchuna, Postal should be rated above Gonzalez?

What an amazing point, there are more 200+ pound men then there are whom are less than 112 pounds. Great point. Holy shit, that is dumb even for you.
