I knew this book would be crap when i heard about it - I heard about the "Christian stuff" - I wanted to write a script about Meldrick taking place in the year 1992, ironically, i had my reasons. I got the info i needed from a lot of small sources and facts. When this book was coming out I called a number that was on there, and told them an i know a director and i would write the script with an obvious sense of budget - its' not "Rocky" budget here - no academy award winners. I was actually threatened by the person on the phone, he said, "You better watch what you write." Incredulously, I asked, "Did you just threaten me? I can write anything i want" - he says, "You better watch what you write," again and hang up. That was the end of my project "'92"

Taylor was an excellent fighter, but the Chavez fight took it all out of him. He took a real beating in that fight. Should never have been stopped though. Steele knew how long was left and after the fight he put up he should have let it go on.

I'm another who wishes he'd seen this thread three years ago - I have to confess I bought the book too, postage and all, from the US. And for my efforts, all I get is Meldrick telling me that I "need to go back to the Caucuses mountains of Georgia, Russia" (page 158). Am waiting for some more specific instruction, what with Georgia not being in Russia...
