Rightfully I belive Simpson is the favourite, for me I belive Simpson is made for him, ronnie likes pressure fighters who walk into him, most his fights he has to be the aggressor , he throws from awkward angles due to his kickboxing background and he can take a shot, am I right? I don't know my opinion, Simpson is one of my favourite boxers never in a full fight but to me he is never training properly it seems!

In honesty it's a interesting fight.. I'm first to admit I'm a big fan of John. Guys had a lot of bad luck and he is a very very good fighter.. John's only weakness is going backwards if you can put him on the back foot you can beat him. If Ronnie did that which I believe he would he would win. Very hard fight for both guys and would have fight of the year written all over it. No chance of either wanting to take a backward step

Alex Morrison and billy nelson both tell you, there is not element of fear from any of them on ronnies part, why would he? He's fought better

In public and ask if they want the fight, surely you can say who you are if you want to quote conversations? Ronnie has performed poor in many fights but that born and bred that you mentions he has, do you? Ryan Walsh is the worst he has fought Nd still should have won, would Michael Roberts fight Ryan Walsh? Featherweight now I guarentee he wouldn't
that will be tough of him. pull them up in public lol im sure that would get him a fight withg them  if he really thought that he would have joined up with alex and not tommy but deep down he knew he would have to fight these guys soonr rather than later
Haha he went with who he felt was right!! Honestly who are you it's clear who I am my names there

ronnie maybe is a nice guy but he is very arrogant and thinks by7 callin people out he can get fights. he might have more chance gettin fights if he could sell tickets in his own city. why doesnt he have shows there anymoer? because they always lose money because nobody can be botherd with his messy style. mike towel will be the one to bring boxin back to dundee in a big way :box:

Ronnie sells more tickets than mikey towell, fact, and sells more than any dundee fighter, no dundee shows because the promotor doesn't put on shows , ronnie single hand idly sold shows in dundee, I sold the tickets and I know what he sold,

That's up for debate. As I understand it the current legal position is that in the event of a 'yes' vote, Scots will be able to maintain dual nationality, as will the unborn children of all Scots alive at the time of the vote. The children of those children will not be British, however, as dual nationality may only be passed down one generation.[/quote]

what part of Scotland being within the British Isles are you not understanding ? Cos if we vote yes we will not sail away from the RUK. FFS

Any boxers who do well for boxing in Dundee is good by me.. Let's hope Mikey can bring boxing back to Dundee doubt it though as him and Ronnie both have the same manager who seems to have no interest in a fight in Dundee

i find it strange taht ronnie left a manager that put on shows in dundee to sign wiht one who isnt interested in running them there lol epic fail see the grass isnt always greener boys. im also sure that if ronnie done the tickets that jamiem claimed then tommy gilmore wold be happy to run shows there. we all know tommy likes money and if the shows made money he wold be there but the simple fact is they never made money they lost FACT.

You sound like a bit of a bitter man there?? I'm not 100% sure but if they lost money why did the manager go on a holiday after both shows? Most small hall shows struggle to turn a huge profit.. Both show made a small profit.. Problem with Dundee is that there is no mid size venue.. Dundee fight night can do between 800-1000 tickets but unfortunately there is no venue in Dundee suitable for this it's either too small to make money or too big for a small promoter to promote...

Hopefully someone posts Ronnie's fight with Troy on youtube,it should be a cracker

I spoke to Davie Drummond a few weeks ago,he's training over in Fife with Stevie McGuire and was hoping to get a spot on an upcoming show but im not sure if it was last weeks Paisley show

I hope it wasnt,Davie' been out for far too long, that must have been over a year ago he fought Meikle, him and the rest of the Dundee lads need to get a bit of momentum going

Fingers crossed Ronnie does the bizzo against James, gets a shot at the British, then becomes Dundee's trail blazer, this place is crying out for our very own British champ

After that,the world :OhYes:

The problem with the Dundee shows were no fault of Ronnie's. His manager put on fighters such as Craig McEwen, Willie Limond who would have took a decent pay, They didnt sell enough tickets and Ronnie had to pick up the pieces and work his arse off to get people through the door, DUndee isntt huge for boxing and they dont have a clue who any of the boxers are bar Ricky Burns proberly and even at that dont really know him. Ronnie takes 100 fans to away fights usually and not including Ronnies tickets i sold 200 tickets without going near Ronnie. Thats not including whats sold at the venue of caird hall or what Ronnie sold nor tables. I dont need to disclose anything but we have always been up front even regarding some of Ronnies opponents. Ronnie left his manager at the time as he couldnt take him any further, A mistake? no but signing with Tommy could have been or signing with Alex could have been, If hes as rubbish as you say then its irrelvant. Comment early you said Roberts fight when something to fight for, being slated on sky would make Ronnie demand that fight and to me Alex Morrison is a clever man and cares about his fighters, he knows the outcome and Billy Nelson knows the outcome wether they wanna say it is there choice!

Unless laws are changed, if the yes vote wins (and I don't thnk it will), your great-grandkids, or grandkids if you don't already have children, will not be eligible for a British passport. For me, if you don't qualify for a British passport, you shouldn't be licensed by the BBBofC and you definitely shouldn't be allowed to fight for the Brtish title.

In the event of independence then surely the bbboc will need to split up their assets. lol

Anyway, it just leaves another gap for another title where the 'british' champion fights the scottish champion. If anything, I would see independence having a positive effect on boxing in Scotland.

Anyone can get a license from the board, doesn't matter where you're from.

You're confusing the UK and Britain, once the union's over, Britain will still exist, but the UK won't. They're separate entities, there's actually no such thing as a British passport, it's a UK passport, but most people refer to it as a British passport. Fighters from Northern Ireland are allowed to fight for the British title, even though they're not British, Barry McGuigan boxed for it and he's Irish, Brian Magee fought for the Lonsdale belt in Dublin, neith Magee or Dublin are in Britain.

(If yes) England, Wales and Northern Ireland will remain in union. Scotland will be a distinct entity politically. That their country would have a border with our country is no more meaningful than France's border with Germany. The political borders are what matter in this debate, not the land mass itself.

Then there can be no British title as Britain isn't a country, it would have to be the UK title. Then what happens when the union's over altogether? Does the Lonsdale belt become the English title?

Irish titles are all-Ireland titles. We may have to get used to British titles being all-Britain.

If the Scots vote yes, wait and see what our country is named in 2016. It's currently undecided and isn't particulary relevant. The key point is that we will be separate countries. As such, we should have a Board and The Scots should have a Board IMO.

That's the way I see it, there's already other titles that don't follow national or continental boundaries, BeNeLux title is one example, no reason why the same can't happen with the British title.

Nothing much will change in regards to the British title. Possibly some Scots could refuse to fight for it on political grounds, as some Irish fighters, but they will be perfectly eligible as they have BBBoC licenses.
As for the referendum, I can't see why any Scot would want to be ruled by the toffee nosed sorts out of Eton and Oxbridge who have delighted in spending the North Sea oil revenue.

Why would they want to fight for a foreign title? I think it's arrogant to assume they would. Maybe one of the 'yes' voters could share their opinion. I wonder if they'll want their own forum on here too.
