Seconds Licence
Hi lads just on to find out what exactly I need to get a seconds licence I know you need to pay a few quid and send photos and birth cert in but do I need anything else someone told me I might need a first aid is that true?
Re: Seconds Licence
Call your area secretary and ask. Lots of people on here will know, lots will thnk they know and lots will guess. Your area secretary will give you the current requirements for sure.
Re: Seconds Licence
Don't know if you need the first aid, but if you do, make sure you do the course that the board run. Enzo Calzaghe got pulled up a couple of years ago because he did the St Johns Ambulance course and they wouldn't license him until he did their course.

You do need to do a Bbbc day course. Nothing too complicated. A bit of first aid. Get in touch with the board to get on a course about a long'un a year !

In the first instance either call or email the boards head office and they will supply you with all the details and when you have complied with all the application form requirements the board will contact the relevant area secretary who will then invite you to attend an interview to asses your suitability to attend one of the regular training courses that are held all over the country so make sure you read the green book that head office will send to you thoroughly because you will be asked questions on the regulations you would be surprised how many applicants fall down at this hurdle simply because they haven't bothered to read the rule book a seconds licence is probably the most important licence you can hold simply because you are responsible for the welfare of your boxer so henceforth the board criteria is getting stricter and rightly so IMO don't be daunted by all of this it's not rocket science it's quite simple know the regulations and you won't have any problem getting on a course where you will be taught first aid etc but it helps if you have a good grounding in first aid before you go on the course best of luck to you I hope this helps
Re: Seconds Licence
You have to do the first aid course provided by the board now.bigped wrote:leonsdaddy1 wrote:how much does it all cost roughly Johnny?

Re: Seconds Licence
Think its about £175 which includes the cost of a fairly limited but specific first aid input.
Apply to the BBBC and you'll be invited for an interview by your area council during one of their meetings where a few questions will be asked of you and you'll be encouraged to read the rule book sections that pertain to the role of second.
Its not a difficult course but suffice to say if you just turn up expecting to pass the exam without paying attention you'll have wasted your money.
The lads that deliver the content do a good job and keep in interesting.
