Who can beat Floyd?

Post by VG_Addict »

Who, in the current era, can beat Floyd Mayweather, or at least come the closest to doing so?

I think Andrade has the tools to do it. He's a tall, rangy, fast southpaw with a good jab, and can box.

im not including any LMW
andrade is struggling with 154

WHo can beat him, maybe Keith Thurman!! IMO

However i see him fighting next - Danny Garcia (his dad will make it interesting) but they need to feed him lamont peterson to build it up

his other fight will be wembley, uk in september vs winner of brook/khan

then he will have his 50th fight vs pacman

Garcia-Floyd could be a big money fight, and it would be a decent scalp for Floyd.

Imagine Angel and Floyd Sr/Roger going at it.

Nobody at 147, if Floyd moved up properly not 152 he may lose but that isn't his best weight.

Nobody at 147 or 154.

But if Floyd fought GGG at 160 without a catchweight, he'd lose.

Pac, Bradley, Thurman and Brook would all have a chance. Floyd would start as favourite but if he fought all 4 in that order I think he'd lose one.

I think someone with a frame like Andrade could give Floyd problems. His height and boxing ability would make him a tough matchup for money. only problem with that is Andrade is going up to 160 to fight for the belt that kid choc vacated. Lara could give a tough fight or someone like Errol Spence (who of course will not nearly be close enough to the top to give it a shot before Floyd retires). I like Thurman a lot and believe that he has the tools to beat Floyd, but just doesn't have the experience.
