Whats worst stoppages you've seen?

Post by vovazilvova »

after watching Ortiz vs. Kayode fight today, even though i think Ortiz would of won by KO later anyways but I thought it was a bad stoppage especially it being so close to the end of the round, so i'm curious now what are other horrible stoppages you've seen?

Chisora Scott was a crap stoppage. The fact Scott didn't protest tells you a lot.

Froch Goves 1 was a bad stoppage. Everybody knows that. Thankfully the rematch displayed any doubt.

I think Paulie could have heard the final bell against Hatton and Khan.

I don't think that a Brit has surrendered in such a cowardly manner when fighting in the USA?

He beat the count. He was up at nine. Then in the interview after, he was all "the best man won"

If it was me I'd be angry and screaming for the rematch. It was a crap stoppage, but ultimately he just took it. That shows me he wasn't up for it to carry on.

And I think Scott is a good heavyweight. He should have moaned and moaned about a "British stoppage"

If Haye Chisora had have gone like that you know there would have been a rematch

The Matthysse vs Ortiz was the same kind of stoppage, while Scott may technically be decent he lacks heart. A fight against Audley Harrison would show if Scott still had the remnant of heart.

I agree. I compared the two stoppages on another thread. That guy beat the count and should have continued.

Chisora vs Avila, Scott, Gerber and Palla - 4 questionable stoppages in a row. I don't think something like that ever happened in boxing. Though I'm sure Derek was going to beat them all anyway.

That was a poor stoppage, but in defence of the referee Enzo had been on the receiving end of an appalling stoppage going the other way in his previous fight against Frenkel - that was shocking. Enzo looked dead.

One of the worst I've seen--there's probably worse, like, but this one comes to mind--was Donaire vs Montiel.

Kiddie's convulsing on the floor like some kind of demonstration of non-conscious galvanic activity, tries to rise, falls on his face, somehow makes it back to his feet before 10, eyes rolling madly in his head, can't walk forward when the ref tells him to, the ref (may he rot in hell) lets it go, the poor pudendum actually cannot move his feet at all & just stands there as Donaire launches himself at him, he takes another huge left hook which smashes him bodily back into the ropes before the ref decides he's had enough.

Fvcking hated that.

Ian John Lewison is awful referee. The worst I've seen in uk and that tell ya something.

He did the same in the mclosky fight. A little dance after a punch and he was stopped. It's boxing not football. It's a contact support need to give boxer a chance. 99% of bad decisions are ref stops top early hardly ever other way round.

Imagine is Micky ward vs gatti was stopped ????? They would never make history if it was

If I am remembering correctly, and I may not be, I think Matthew Saad Muhammad stopped Jerry Martin with a combination that was beyond ridiculous.
