Does Haye have a future
Does Haye have a future
he is in vegas, it seems he will get together with haymon, so haye wants to continue boxing and although heavyweight division is prety sh&(y, still there are some solid names in the us market, no only us heavy but guys who fight sometimes in the us like adamek. so....
wilder, areolo, stiverne, adamek, glazkov, perez, jennings, ortiz.......haye in the mix, you good make some good match ups....at least entertaining

Considering he's the biggest money draw in the Heavyweight division, I'd have to say yes.

Haye was the biggest financial draw in the heavyweight division. I think it's fair to question if he still is after this long of a layoff and the multiple canceled fights. It's a toss-up at this point in my opinion.
That being said, many more fighters will want to get in with Haye than Klitschko. Haye is much more beatable and they can make a similar amount of money.

Do you have numbers to back up this claim? Serious question because I know Haye was a huge draw but always figured Wlad was bigger.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Nope

you can forget about likes of perez, arreaola, adamek

Don't you have to fight to be a fighter?
Re: Does Haye have a future
I'm not sure how many PPV fights Wlad has been involved in although David Haye certainly sells well.
Re: Does Haye have a future
Haye is injury prone and past it. First the toe injury vs. Wlad. Then a shoulder injury, surgery. Haye's future is giving a press conference mild training then canceling fights. It's never ending.

Please don't concern people with facts.People only want to believe their own warped perceptionLeather Daddy wrote:Wladimir made 20 million euros for the Povetkin fight alone. Wladimir usually pockets around 6 or 7 million euros for his "stay busy" fights. As I recall, his 2011 fight with Haye had a 50-50 purse split and at that time it was considered a bit generous to Haye tbh.
Wladimir is the 3rd highest paid boxer in boxing (behind Floyd and Manny). If Wlad fought Haye in a rematch today youd have to fancy a 75-25 split for Wlad.
Wlad has always made more money than Haye and to be frank if Haye returned today he'd be lucky to break 1.5 million euros.

I know, but saad is a big numbers guy when it comes to everything but Wlad. Then he lets his bias blind him.tiny_acres wrote:No numbers will verify this.Wlad out does Haye in all area's from attendance to purses.punchoutsb wrote:Do you have numbers to back up this claim? I don't like Wlad much either.I respect the heck out of him.But his grab and leaning style puts me
to sleep every time.
Haye I can not stand.Again a very talented fighter who has the personality of a Kardashian.

Agree completely here. Haye wastes his talent and his "fights" against Valuev and Klitscho were pitiful.
Re: Does Haye have a future
If haye is expected to have a fight this year i find it difficult to see who is available as most fighters are booked
only ones i can think of are
1. Arreola
2. Glazkov (but will pick and choose to become ibf mandatory)
3. Mike Perez - possibly although not won last 2 fights they were close to be draws
I honestly see this happening
If TARVER beats banks
Tarver (who has been vocal about haye) will fight Haye on the undercard of a fight in xmas.
together with a broner, peterson, quillin card
lets hope banks can beat tarver

Haye was a PPV fighter, Wlad is not. The fact that Wlad was reduced to a 50/50 split when they fought should tell you all you need to know.punchoutsb wrote:Do you have numbers to back up this claim? Though the poster makes a good point about Haye's cancellations and what not potentially threatening his cash cow status.

Re: Does Haye have a future
I think both guys realized the monetary value of the fight, which is why the 50/50 was agreed on. So no, that doesn't in any way show Haye was a bigger draw.
Re: Does Haye have a future
I think it does in this particular fight. Haye brought PPV to the bout was this Wlad last PPV?punchoutsb wrote:I think both guys realized the monetary value of the fight, which is why the 50/50 was agreed on. So no, that doesn't in any way show Haye was a bigger draw.

The phrase Saad used was money draw. Money is money whether a fight is PPV or not. I would agree that Haye was a bigger PPV star than Wlad, but not overall.zero wrote:I think it does in this particular fight. I answered your question on what I meant. Just face it, I was right and you were wrong. You should be used to that. PPV money far exceeds live gates.punchoutsb wrote:The phrase Saad used was money draw. Money is money whether a fight is PPV or not. No, you said Haye was a bigger money draw. If you meant PPV you should have said so. Wlad is the 3rd highest paid boxer in the world. You'll be going to sleep soon I'm sure...SaadOffTheDeck wrote: I answered your question on what I meant. Just face it, I was right and you were wrong. You should be used to that. I never said Haye made more money than Wlad. If you're that confused, feel free to ask. Haye is a bigger money draw for opposition. Hence why Wlad's biggest payday was fighting Haye. Anyway, no point in going in your revolving circle after you talk out of your ass.
