the usual Mayweather referee = never lets the opponent work inside, breaks immediately. An allows Floyd to push off with a forearm smash

First pushing offense is a deduction yet repeated elbows are nothing. Awful again.

Mayweather could have a family member as ref, and he wouldn't get an easier time.

TBE = The Biggest Ejaculator

Great fighter, but really, Leonard, Hearns, DUran, Hagler... at least 2 of those would beat him.

What a disappointing show; that made the earlier Manchester card look good.

Right, lesson finally learned - I'm never ever staying up to watch another Mayweather fight again.

Unless he fights Pacquiao or Khan obviously

Frampton brings the big numbers and a real belt. He only brings the big numbers in his hometown and as for his belt, well, as much as I like Martinez, Munroe dealt with him years ago, and that whole fight was geared towards Frampton winning.

Quigg will earn well at matchroom and be in the mix for other decent fights with them eventually, with or without Carl.

I wouldn't mind seeing it but it's not a real must see fight for me. Both are overrated. Both nice chaps so if they do fight I hope they both get paid well.
Frampton could sell more than Quigg does in Manchester at this stage, now he has the title the support will only get bigger. And lets be honest, even if Frampton only draws big in Belfast, that's better than not drawing at all like Quigg.
Frampton would sell 2-3times as much as Quigg in Manchester. I went to the McCloskey v Khan fight and the Irish swarmed the place packed to the rafters and the atmosphere was class because of them. I went to Khans first world title fight v Kotelnik and that was only half full.

I hate PPV personally and can not see how Quigg v Frampton is a PPV fight.

Why should Frampton go on the road to beat Quigg, then have to do it at home a few months later? Belfast in June, build a bigger arena, 80-20 split, IBF title, get it on terrestrial TV and we all watch Frampton take Quigg apart.

Will state up front I'm a big fan of both these guys so maybe over-rate them a touch. Watched Quigg break through into domestic title level and he has speed, power, combinations and really solid grounding in basics. Ditto with Frampton. But, much as I rate both of them as being genuine world title level fighters, I just think Frampton has a little more of everything, in particular his ability to fight going in any direction puts him ahead of Quigg's more singular style. Martinez is a level above what Quigg has been fighting and Frampton did a good job against him first time and a superb one next time. The last fight was what a world champion should do against a genuine fringe contender. Much as I like Quigg, I think you're right, this is about Hearn with the double payday because he knows Quigg is just behind the top guys in the division. I also suspect if the first fight is as thought through and planned as the second Martinez fight by Frampton's team then there may not be a second one because Quigg's people may not want to put him through the ringer a second time.

As for Hearn and McGuigan, they're doing their jobs. BM especially is getting the "Carl is the big draw" out there at every opportunity. I suspect both of them would do the fight as a 50-50 and really do want to do it. The reaction of both when Rigondeau is mentioned shows they're both realistic guys who don't say they'll do what they don't want to do. On which point, I 100% agree with everyone who says that fight has no value. It is funny that the people saying CF and SQ should fight the guy because he's the best by miles don't get that if he's that good there needs to be some value to them for taking the fight. As has been pointed out, everyone wants Mayweather because it pays, so it isn't about the guy's ability scaring them, it is about getting the money to make it worthwhile. Not least because both those guys would be the ones bringing the fans/money to the fight so only fair they get a good share of it.

Poor card at Manchester. Quigg did what was asked of him though.

Although I'd favour Frampton if they met, it would not be a foregone conclusion.

I like Quigg's bodywork and the way he sits down on his punches. Hope they can make it for early next year in Belfast.

If they can find an arena, it could do 30k plus over there. Alternatively, do it England and thousands of Frampton fans will come regardless.

The main reason Quigg is able to sit down on his punches is due to the poor quality of his opposition though. He wouldn't be able to tee off against Frampton like he did against Jamoye. (Not that Jamoye is a poor boxer, he was just too small to make any dent in Quigg.)

I really hope this fight comes off. The fact that there's so many doubts about it actually happening pretty much sums up what's wrong with British boxing at the moment.

I went last night, and would say the Vassel fight was very good and Liam Hannrahan got took out with the perfect punch. The crowd wasn't that bad, but it's hard to judge when parts are papered off.

Sorry but...this sport needs a clean out of corrupt or clueless judges.
Absolutely. The mind boggles sometimes.
Surely if it's corrupt, it would be better to do a 115-113 type score and not make it obvious?

It must be absolutely clueless
