Rigondeaux King of Boxing
Rigondeaux King of Boxing
the guy needs no bought ref or gloves discussions to beat opponents.
he goes in the ring and beats 11 out of 12 rounds against a "back than" ranked top 4 p4p superstar
he is technicly & speedwise on the same level as floyd and powerwise and footwork even better than floyd
he beats opponents via KO or easy UD and not mayority descisions or 116:112 cards like floyd

Floyd UD. ;;-)
Re: Rigondeaux King of Boxing
When Rigo wins 24 or 25 world championship fights, while giving up 15-17 lbs in the ring on a fairly regular basis, I will give him props. He is a great boxer, and #2 or 3 imo pfp, but needs more fights on the championship level to surpass Floyd. The margin you win or lose by is something people forget or ignore, otherwise guys like Wilder would be a top pfp guy.Chepppaaa wrote:the guy needs no bought ref or gloves discussions to beat opponents.

I'm a huge Guillermo fan, but he needs more names & wins on his resume before he's "king of boxing". At the end of the day for most cats he's beaten Nonito & thats it. Granted there isn't a overflowing of options for him right now, but to get higher status in the sport he needs to a)reign for a long time, which I see as unlikely with his already advanced age (the brother turns 34 this month) or b)get some bigger more notable names on his resume.
Re: Rigondeaux King of Boxing
Seems like people actually giving a shit about watching you fight would be part of the criteria for being king of boxing.

you get it twisted.
my p4p ranking have not much to do with legacy. i dont care what floyd did 10 years ago.
my list is about "who beats who" and in a p4p sense rigo beats floyd. and i am not talking about 2005 or anything, i am talking about now 2014. if they fought in 4 month, rigo would beat floyd. all i need to know. records dont win fights. technic and physic and rigo surpasses floyd in those areas.
sure the margin is important, but the wilder example is just bad from your part, because wilder beat up 0 name fighter. rigo instead fought some tough competetion in a p4p super star nonaire and solid ex champions in agbeko and was super impressiv doing it. but like i sad, my main focus in a p4p list is who has the better technic, footwork speed n power and who ultimatly beats the guy infront of him. rigo beats floyd or anybody else, he is the most skilled boxer in the world, his footwork and lateral movemant are world class. his overall technic is world class, his speed and power is also elite.

roman is way to open and overall slow for rigondeaux. rigondeaux athletic ability and footwork would be to much for roman.

with king of boxing i dont mean the most famous or the one with the most facebook likes. sure rigondeaux is not as famous as canelo or pacquiao, but right now in a p4p sense, similar weight, rigo would outclass both. so would he do with floyd.
when i say king of boxing i mean who the best is, who beats everybody else based on technic and athleticsm.
and that has nothing to do with long reign, you dont have to had a long reighn to be better than other.
young prime roy jones had like 26 fights and fought somebody with a long reign in james toney who had around 46 fights and who beat who?
the one with the better speed, the one who more athletic and that was young roy. skills win fights, not long reigns. long reigns make you more famous. but i did not say rigo was the most famous boxer in the world, i just say he was the king, better than everyone.

guys like floyd or haymon who bought th ref or klitschko are no good for boxing, hugging and holding is awful to watch, boxing digusting that way, thats why i am taking it this far and i will be happy when floyd and kltischko and the crabbing, holding is gone

Re: Rigondeaux King of Boxing
Im not talking fame either, but you gotta actually do sh!t to be the "king of boxing" & Guillermo has only beaten Nonito basically. Roy was a bad mfer no question, but he didnt get above James Toney til he beat James Toney. Guillermo needs to actually beat some bad mfers to get a higher status. The least he needs to do is beat Leo or Carl & he's probably gonna need to move up, not unlike Roy vs James, & fight Nonito (again), Jhonny &/or Abner & maybe even some 130lb cats after that. You don't get gifted the "king of boxing" by looking good & unbeatable in one fight you get it over time by looking unbeatable vs many high level guys.Chepppaaa wrote:ReggieDiggs wrote:I'm a huge Guillermo fan, but he needs more names & wins on his resume before he's "king of boxing". Boring boring boring. Loaded dice fighters ; lack of entertainment ; get away with holding, grabbing, mauling, spoiling without a word from the referee. I mean Klinchko againt Povetkin should have been a disqualification!!!! They are interested in making money only and not offering entertainment. Fighters like Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran would still be unbeaten to this day if they adopted these ridiculous tactics. What a joke!

imagine every atg boxer acting like floyd, lets say prime hagler would have puched his opponent and as soon as his opponent comes at him, he huggs him and holds and waits for the ref to break and than does it again 1000 times. boxing would be the most boring sport to watch ever, even darts would be more fun to watch, if hugging and wrestling was legal, which is not, but refs know shit and dont apply the rules, therefore somebody like bayless should get either a warning or leave boxing.

This guy is one of the most boring fighters out there. He is technically brilliant but his fights are bore fests. He can't draw flies to shit because he takes no risks at all. Boxing is better without him. Send his ass back to Cuba along with that pussy Peter Quitting.

This guy is great. I really like Rigo, but he is beginning to take on a mythical stance now. It is all going a bit too far.

I know he wasn't born in Cuba and I doubt even Cubans now want him. If I were Cuban I'd be embarrassed by him. The guy is one big pussy along with All Hymen.Othro wrote:Hard to send someone back to a country they've never been to.Baby Face Finster wrote:This guy is one of the most boring fighters out there.
