why i dislike amir khan

Post by Bricks »

Now these are just my opinions I may be wrong but these are my opinions

Plusses

One of most talented, brave, courageous ,tough boxers to come out of Britain .has had a good career ,financially an excellent one.has suffered racism but risen above it.supported his family well too which earns him points in my book.

Negatives
A phoney egomaniac.started out acting the well spoken boy ,trying to be all things to all men, yet the fakery shines through British Asian and white British males alike dislike him the constant kiss and tell stories, flash excessive lifestyle, and money orientated only career hasn't helped.although he is in the hottest division in boxing he wants to con his way to a mayweather fight without beating a top ten guy a huge shame given his talent, has anyone made Garcia look an amateur early on like khan.although he's had lessons lately in how to talk on tv his arrogance and smug way comes through talking in the third person. Just too many hypocrisies with this guy.

The ironic thing is that Khan is maybe the only person that can trouble Maywether for a few rounds with his speed. Funny world !

Khan's biggest weakness is his chin. But money shot is not a big puncher. Khan has fast hands and good work rate. He'd have a decent chance against Mayweather.

As to his character. Well, he has shown character to come back from Prescott and Garcia devastating kos. He's a bit of a tool, but not a bad guy,

I have actually warmed to him, because of his heart and guts. He's not my favourite fighter, but he's not objectionable either

Has a boxer , You cannot question him , heart speed , talent , Even his chin i don't think is has bad has made out , i think the weight he fought at affected him .

But has a public figure , well lets just say , like most sportsman , who spend there school days dreaming of being world champ ,or playing for united and there lesson times thinking about being champ , he's not the smartest cookie around, and it shows , but he's getting better , Basicly he's just a dumb facker , who fails to put his brain in motion before he opens his mouth , but overall probably not a bad guy .

Just look at early interviews with Beckham , IT TOOK HIM YEARS TO WORK OUT WHAT 2 AND 2 was .

I like him. I just hate his habit of talking about the mega fight he's going to have AFTER he wins against.... ouch.

Anyways

Khan can take Mayweather now. Im more certain than eevr. Those shots he was landing on maidana should have budged him at least a little bit but they did nothing. His power may ave all but deserted him

Maywetaher doesnt get to 50-0 imo

The problem I find when reading about people's dislike of Khan, it can usually be applied to half of the boxing elite, but for some reason people cry a lot more when Khan does it.... When he is fighting someone mediocre people are all over it on here, but there are a ton of fighters that get a pass for fighting shite opposition. Before people start talking about Khan trying to sneak his way into big money fights, they should look at that card the other week featuring two of his conquerors, Garcia and Peterson..... I don't really get the need for these types of threads singling fighters out for something that everyone in the sport does.

Or is Khan the first person to live a flash lifestyle, take easy fights when they're available and talk about himself in the third person? Boxing fans have to be about the most hypocritical fans out there.

Its also funny to see how all these types of threads come with a disclaimer first. Usually something along the lines of "Sure he beat xxxx" or "He has a big heart". Routinely followed by a personal attack on some young kid without an education who isn't doing things the way you want them to.

Over-rated..............

Looks a bit flashy, but has a glass chin. As a person, i agree with what you have said Mugabi.

As for beating Floyd..........................well lol, he wouldn't.

You can't look at the Khan - Maidana fight and then look at The Mayweather - Maidana fight and draw plausable conclusions, because the fight game doesn't work that way. Some will point to how Mayweather didn't trouble Maidana, but Khan sent him wobbly on a number of occasions, but equally, Maidana couldn't trouble Floyd and yet made Khan do the funny dance. Khan is ok, he belongs at world level, but to me he is over-rated. He actually looks better than he actually is and he is a fighter who looks way better going forward than he does on the back foot or in defensive mode.

I think he certainly stunned Floyd, but wouldn't go as far as saying he "hurt" him. Put it this way, it wasn't what it was in the Khan - Maidana fight, where both were wobbling around the ring like drunken men on a night out. Floyd has the ability and craft to beat any fighter out there at the moment. The only thing that will beat Floyd is if he goes on after these next two fights. Don't be suprised to see his last fight being against Pacquaio who is certainly a shot fighter and not as he was, but the PR machine will go into overdrive and sell it as the fight of the year, when it should have happened five years ago.

How many boxers say they'd beat Floyd Mayweather when they are still fighting 4-rounders?

I just find Khan to be a bit up himself. At one point I read an interview with Khan comparing himself to Lewis Hamilton. Saying him and Lewis were a new breed of sporting heroes for British fans. Seemed a bit unnecessary, because as far as I can tell, the interview had got nothing to do with Lewis Hamilton. He wasn't there, hadn't been asked about nor could I fathom any other particular connection between the two, other than the one Khan made. They were both sports stars from Britain. It was round about Lewis Hamilton's debut season, when people were still finding him new and exciting. It was almost as if Khan was trying to give himself some cool celebrity friends.

Khan isn't a big enough bellend to turn me off watching him fight, but he does come out with some cack. He's the sort of person who you don't mind watching fight, as long as you don't have to listen to him being interviewed afterwards. :OhYes:

He has a self believe , and without it he would be doing 4 rounders in Bolton , You only have to look at him being interviewed , it really is a genuine self belief , even when he's been ko'd he'll tell you Yeh but i was winning till he hit me ,

Not everyone likes it , but without it he would'nt be where he is today , and the crazy part is don't be suprised if he's the first to beat Mayweather , ha ha

Now that would be a turn up for the books would'nt it :bag: :bag:

Nothing but love for Amir.
Good for British Boxing and good on him for making the most of what he's got.
I'll always worry about his punch resistance against the top guys but I enjoy watching him and have no problem with him self promoting nor enjoying his wealth.
He gives a hell of a lot back to his community and the sport too so good on the lad.
