Bite or no Bite?

Post by Cutman Scabbers »

Does Maidana have a history of biting? Did he bite Floyd?

Didn't biting used to be a normal part of boxing pre-Queensbury rules?

from the camera view it will be impossible to say for certian.
but what we do know is that floyd pulled a bitch move by putting his glove in his mouth to restrict his breathing.

Must have REALLY hurt through that padded boxing glove with a mouth guard in, if it actually happened

There's not padding on the underside of the glove.

Did Maidana have an upper-only mouth guard?

Gloves are moulded in the shape of a fist, put a glove on and try and straighten out your fingers, nearly impossible, so floyd must have tried to straighten the glove out and then stick it in maidanas mouth for that to happen or your making excuses

Why would Mayweather lie? Why would he exaggerate it when he was winning quite handily at that time. Video supports the bite, the response was immediate from Floyd and it looks very legit to anyone with an ounce of intelligence.

I mean, damn, I do not even like Mayweather and wanted him to lose, I really did but that does not mean I lose all sense of right or wrong and common sense.

Biting is a terrible thing to do, not in the rules and we should condemn Maidana for this and people who think not are just blinded by their hatred for Mayweather and that is not a nice personal trait.

You can hate someone, a lot, but still maintain logic and intelligence and analyse with honesty.

Mostly this, can't see from the camera angle, but from the look of Marcos' neck it kinda seemed in "bite mode" if that makes any sense whatsoever & I'm not even sure about that. Clearly Floyd was trying to do something on his end to which this seems like a tit for tat move to me & if Marcos did it & didn't get caught & Floyd was doing what he's doing & not getting caught...fair play to me there.

Hardly call it a bitch move though, I think biting is more of a bitch move if anything. Think its just an old boxing trick that lotsa guys have used for a getting a tiny lil edge more going their way not unlike other tactics like leaning on a guy. Anything to disrupt a guys flow or deplete his energy a lil quicker you now.

biting with a mouthguard on a thick padded glove? And people believe Floyd's reaction was genuine?

Do people have any common sense and logic?

Not to mention that Floyd's hand was wrapped.

Paulie mentioned getting bit with thick padded gloves by a guy with a mouth guard post fight. Its definitely possible. I mean you ain't taking a chunk outta a hand ala Tyson & Holyfield's ear, but pressure from two things like a upper jaw & lower jaw on a small object like fingers can do some damage no question about that. For further evidence put on a mitten & shut your hand in a car door.

You can't see sh!t in the video, but Floyd's fingers definitely looked swelled up a lil bit in the video I saw so something happened.

The lower parts tend to be wrapped, though obviously it wouldn't matter if Mayweather was bitten higher and I didn't realize he was claiming his that fingers were bitten rather than the palm area.

I know see that he's claiming that one of his fingers burst, but I have doubts about that.

Well said. Common sense and honesty is just not that common anymore obviously. Maidana bit the glove if you look close. You could see him do it, and see Floyd's reaction during it. Mayweather may or may not have exaggerated the damage it did, but the fact is, if Bayless did see it, Maidana would have been DQ'd on the spot. If it would have been on the forearm and even left a tiny mark, Maidana would have been DQ'd. What a bonehead thing to do. Maidana was not even man enough to admit it. To top all that off, he thinks he won the fight?

If you watch it in the slow-mo replay Floyd is grimacing and trying to pull his hand out of Madainas mouth. It's pretty clear that Madaina bit him, but I think Floyd over exaggerated a bit, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt. I lost a lot of respect for Madaina, he is one of the dirtiest fighters I've ever seen and I just have no respect for dirty shit like that. Holding and all that is one thing but when you're intentionally committing fouls with the intent to hurt your opponent, I just can't respect that from any fighter. Madaina has no class at all, he's a poor sportsman and really needs to change his attitude, he was making a lot excuses and crying like a bitch in the end. "I think I won the fight" ~ Madaina .... Yeah OK dumb ass lmao.

Pretty amazing, with xylocaine injected into his hand and the pillows he insists on around his hands that he could feel a gum shielded bite.

i hate mayweather but see no reason for him to lie about this.

but like paulie malignaggi alluded to.....it was no accident that mayweather's glove was stuffed in maidana's face. shouldn't have bitten though.

just part of one of the worst ppv shows ever broadcast. showtime ppv should be ashamed of airing the first 2 1/2 hours and shilling for it.

When someone shoves something in your mouth, biting it seems like a very human reaction.
