Is this the guy trained by his father and wore the "stamina for sale" top?

Yes that's the one. I used to see him a lot when I trained at the Peacock. Didn't know he was called Banjamin though? Him and his 'uncle' although not blood related I believe, live and breath Floyd maywether and the whole TMT. So fair play I guess it's a dream come true for them. Hope the kid can pull it off, but it's hard to emulate Mayweather.

I just hope his expectations are not too high as they have been building him up for years.

I for one wish him all the best. I've seen him grow from a boy to a man. Talented kid. Just hope all the mayweather style pads and stuff doesn't hinder him. Very sharp lad. Like to see him do well. Tho looking good in the gym and fighting men wanting to knock him out are two completely different things

Hardly ever boxed, think they decided he should be fighting no more than 3 times a year, went a couple of years without a fight at one point, I'm sure he lost comfortably to Jack Bateson a few years ago, must have grown since then. Tunde seems to feel that hanging around the Mayweather camp was better than actually fighting, but I'm not sure he has a clue really, his padwork is by far the worst I've ever seen.

Jack Bateson is top class, no shame in losing to him. Good luck to junior, hope he does well.

Their whole training appears to focus on imitating mayweathers style rather than finding their own expression. I can't see it ending well. Hope I'm wrong obv.

I remember thinking this guys trying to live his dreams thru the young lad.

That's not unusual in sport unfortunately , having said that Theophane
Has made a good living after Moving out there, shame he never focused on
Winning his British out right

Seems level headed from his most recent interview

So they won't say why. For all the talk around this kid, there seems to be a real aversion to actually getting in the ring and fighting, training and sparring will only get you so far, if he's going to get anywhere he needs competitive rounds, even if it's only against poor opponents, just to get a feel for fighting when the pressure's on and how he copes with nervous energy.

I'm sure he used to be called Otuo Saba.

I remember watching Otuo on the pads at the Peacock gym when Mayweather came down a few years ago. Then I saw him on the pads once again but this time at Spencer Fearon's gym when Lennox Lewis came down for a master class. Both times Otuo was very much imitating Floyd and Tunde was imitating Roger Mayweather with the pad work. He looked impressive but pads don't punch back :TU:

Apparently he was going to box under the name Junior "it's all about the" Benjamin. Maybe this was to get around a Nevada Athletic Commission licensing situation which failed. Which is why he was pulled out & no-one wants to say why.

I have often watched Otuo on the pads many times & wondered what the point is & told Tunde that i just don't get it but he always looks good in sparring. I had just hoped there would be some evidence of the effectiveness one way or another of Tunde's methods by now.

I don't get why sky sports give air time to people like him and Romeo Romaeo ahead of genuine prospects or credible amateurs (not on gb squad). Good luck to them both but they are still very very early on into things.

How can spencer fearon say that Saba could go onto to be britains sugar ray Leonard and truly mean it knowing full well that he's had only a handful of fights and won no titles as an amateur. Don't get me wrong he could become a good pro and seems to be dedicated but that kind of hype is just embarrassing.

Let the kid grow and learn his trade then start giving him some praise.

Like I said, good luck to them both but it's unneeded pressure for them at this stage.

I guess with sky, the squeaky wheel gets oiled.

Seen him the corner for one of his fighters, I think, the fighter was getting hammered and he was telling him to knock the guy out, the next round his fighter got ko'ed, just seem really bad advice, he did not give any good instructions and he seemed to play to the camera, like it was all about him.

Over there in America, if he fights the wrong opponent he could get splattered by the sound of it

If he fights the wrong opponent in Britain he gets splatted. What's fighting in America got to do with the price of fish.

Junior "it's all about the" Benjamin that name reeks of Spencer Fearon.
