The legacy of Audley Harrison will be brief period a decade ago when the BBC dipped its toes back into the boxing scene.
We had some great fights on the beeb including Danny Williams's exploits at british and euro level. This one has popped up on youtube.

Sprott had lost to Williams previously but had fought his way back into contention for Williams's British title with some great performances and was coming into the rematch as the inform heavy in Britain.

A hugely controversial fight. shocking refereeing on every level -crucial early round ending in the first..and shocking handling of the low blows. Sprott threw it away though after a terrific start

I was at this fight and i remember it well!! Good night and i remember meeting james oyebola as he was coming out of the mens room. I joked with him and started to spar. He held out his arm and it was like a telephone pole. The guy was enormous with something like an 85 inch reach! He held his arm outstretched with his fist on my forehead while i comically swung at thin air!
I really liked James and i met him a second time down Denman street in the west end when i was eating at my dads restaurant and he walked past. I remember running outside after him to shake his hand. He was also so amiable and likeable. Such a tragedy what happened.
Sorry to come off the subject.

Funso my mistake. It was the third fight at wembley i was at. The atmosphere was odd that night. Subdued and indefferent. .

the third was fairly dull with a points win for Sprotty although it could have gone either way and should have been a draw but i dont think the public could have stood for a 4th fight.

Williams got robbed in their rubber match. It was clear the ref was interested in administering "justice" for the rematch instead of giving it to the deserving fighter.

I've never watched that before, what a shocker! Sprott looked to be having the better of it before the Danny discovered the left to the bollocks, straight right to the chin combo.
