Sturm v Stieglitz set for Nov. 8th in Stuttgart

Post by ringtoneboxing »

I think this would have been more relevant earlier this year when both held titles but still, a good German domestic scrap and saves Robert from fighting Arthur for a 4th time.

It would set up an interesting matchup against Abraham.

This at super middleweight? Doubt Stieglitz could make middleweight. Particularily at this stage of his career.

Any reason he never fought Abraham when they were both champs at middleweight ?

Because he probably would have lost, he could make great money making defences against softer touches, that's what I'd guess, there may have been other reasons of course

They both had alphabet belts, Abraham offered Sturm $2.5m euros, is what I remember. Sturm, after talking big, turned it down. He ended up probably making the right choice financially because he kept sucking the German fans dry for years afterward defending his crappy belt to packed houses.
Sturm v Abraham would have been a good, interesting fight five or six years ago. Now it would be a battle of two guys who only fight in spurts, which still might be interesting
