Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
With Paul's fight with Abraham coming up this weekend alongside the valiant effort (even if he did pretty much lose every round) Rebrasse put up against Groves do you think Paul would beat Rebrasse?
Re: Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
Paul Smith at his best would IMO. Rebrasse was game and tough but the lack of power would mean Smith could put it on him and probably win a UD similar to Groves. I always think Euro champion is a strange one as when Rebrasse held the belt, there was arguably 6 fighters who could beat him just in England never mind the rest of Europe.

I think it'd be too close to call. Can't decide.

Nope. Would put good money on the Frenchman
Re: Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
Rebrasse wideish points in my opinion.

Serious question, when was Paul Smith at his best?danamba7 wrote:Paul Smith at his best would IMO. Re: Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
In my opinion Rebrasse is Groves' best legitimate win.
The DeGale fight obviously was on paper, but a great many had it as a draw or DeGale win and certainly warranted a rematch.
I don't think Smith would beat Rebrasse.

I thought Groves beat Degale by a point if I recall but it was very close.Maxsplit wrote:In my opinion Rebrasse is Groves' best legitimate win.

IMO At middleweight, around the time he lost at English title level to Steve Bendall.Lenny wrote:Serious question, when was Paul Smith at his best?danamba7 wrote:Paul Smith at his best would IMO. For me he only moved up to 168lbs as it was a weaker division domestically until the rise of Groves & Degale, both of whom outclassed him.
I still wish him well though; I'd love it if somehow he managed to beat Abraham.
Re: Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
I'd favor Rebrasse but I think he was a fairly weak champion and I'd give Smith a realistic shot.

I predict a early night look what groves and degale did to him. He as been eating spinach from big joe Gallagher and believes he as a chance , pain in a abundance for paul
Re: Would Paul Smith beat Christophe Rebrasse?
Hearn will be making Rebrasse v Callum Smith next. As for Paul, good luck to him but even a shot AA has too much for him. Too strong and too experienced.

That's a good fight. Maybe a bit too soon for Smith?dbf wrote:Hearn will be making Rebrasse v Callum Smith next.
Rebrasse is going to get a lot of calls and could make some very nice money in his career. Tough guy, no punch, not a massive threat, has a style conducive to good fights.
