Hi BoxRec editors,
there are some small errors in the ratings of the boxers, who won one or more bouts at the "super 8" tournament in Australia
http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=689232
- Brice Ritani-Coe
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
He first boxed against Alonzo Butler, than against Kali Meehan.
Meaning, he should have had 10 rating points when he stepped into the ring with Meehan.
This may affect Meehans rating as he beat Ritani-Coe
- Anthony Nansen
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Nansen beat Hasim Rahman, before he lost against Micheal Sprott.
So he should have had 25 rating points before fighting Sprott.
This may affect Sprotts rating who won every round against Nansen.
- Michael Sprott
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Sprott should have 139 rating points (coming from his win against Jason Gavern), when he fought the quarter final against Martin Rogan. Sprott won closely, which may have an influence on Rogan's rating.
His next bout was against Nansen, before he fought against Kali Meehan.
The current - incorrect - chronology is: Meehan then Nansen then Rogan
- Kali Meehan
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Meehan should have stepped with 23 rating points into the ring, when he fought against Hunter Sam. As Meehan won by SD, this may result to a lower rating of Hunter Sam (at the moment, Sam is gaining 8 points).
His next fight was against Ritani-Coe and finally he fought Michael Sprott.
So it may be, that Meehan has more than those 23 rating points, when he knocked out Sprott, which could result in a different rating for Sprott.
Current chronology: Sprott then Ritani-Core then Sam
Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
Maybe I posted in the wrong board?
Those records are still incorrect and it seems like no editor feels responsible to keep the ranking points of those fighters properly calculated. :(
Or is there another way to contact the BoxRec staff?
As Meehan is scheduled to fight Shane Cameron und Michael Sprott is in negotiations for a fight Anthony Joshua, those errors might affect other boxers ratings in the future.

Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
This is the right forum, no worries, but the responsible editor may not look in every day... Please be patient. The ratings are calculated by the computer anyway, based on the fighter's results and opposition...
Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
Sure they are calculated by a computer. But they are often computed wrong when some fighters fought more than once a day. In some cases they are not calculated in the correct chronological order (f.e. quarter final, then semi final, then final).claudevsq wrote:The ratings are calculated by the computer anyway, based on the fighter's results and opposition...
This also happens some times at the "prizefighter" tourneys in the UK.
Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
The order of fights is correct in their respective record, unlike UK's Prizefighter where at times quarter final was recorded the last fight in the tourney.
Nansen should've fought Meehan in semi 1 & Ritani-Coe vs Sprott in semi 2, but goal posts were moved (so to speak) prior to semis, hence the card reads semi 2 followed quarter 4 http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=689232
I could've fixed it for the sake of appearance, but couldn't be bothered.

Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
IMO, officiating was dodgy. Why did it take some 5 minutes to add Meehan/Sam 3-rounds score? Maybe promoter NZ Sky Arena had something to do with it??
Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
Meehan = New Zelander/Australian? He was born in Fiji. Maybe I'm Italian/Australian albeit born in Slovenia 'cos I lived in Italy for 3 years ;;-)
Re: Small errors at the rating of the "Super 8" contestants
I would be glad if you could fix it, as I expect it might change some rating points. Espacially for Meehan and Sprott, who are scheduled to fight soon.AntonS wrote: I could've fixed it for the sake of appearance, but couldn't be bothered.
