Joey Dawejko scores 2nd consecutive 1st round knockout
Philadelphia (September 23, 2014) -This past Friday night at Harrahs Philadelphia, Heavyweight Joey Dawejko scored his 4th straight win and his 2nd consecutive 1st round knockout when he destroyed Yohan Banks in 94 seconds of their scheduled 8-round bout.
The fight headlined a card that was promoted by Joey Eye Boxing Promotions, XFE and Peltz Boxing.
About forty-five seconds into the bout, Dawejko dropped Banks with a hard left hook. Banks was clearly hurt and went down again from two more lefts. Dawejko clearly smelled blood and put Banks out of his misery with two more lefts and Banks went down for a 3rd and final time.
The win comes on the heels of 1st round stoppage by Dawejko over David Williams on August 2nd. He has registered 6 knockdowns in his last 3:22 of work.
The win ups the 24 year-old's record to 12-3-2 with five knockouts.
"I thought I put on a great performance. I knew he was tough but I knew when i hit him with the first shot that I had him,"said Dawejko.
"I feel like I am back on track and ready to great things."
"I want to thank my manager Mark Cipparone and Club 1957 Management and my promoter Russell Peltz.", finished Dawejko
"I am excited not only about the win but how Joey has set himself up each time to get those amazing 1rd KO's. I believe that when a fighter with talent such as Joey decides to truly do what it takes and put his boxing career above all amazing things seem to happen! That being said I am extra proud to be a part of his team as every piece of this has been coming together rather seamlessly. So hats off to head Coach Billy Briscoe, strength trainer Jermaine Clarke and Joey's brother Walt for they too have contributed to this great victory!", said Mark Cipparone of Club 1957 Management.

Re: Joey Dawejko scores 2nd consecutive 1st round knockout
he looks small enough to fight cruiser, though.
if he can make a dent at heavy then yeah heavy is the marqui division, but just
wondering if he could get world ranked at cruiser with the right opponents and
get a big fight.

IMO he is at the right place. He is similar to UK McDermott in that he is a little short for today's standards but compensates with other skills like good execution, composure, good jab and decent hands. He was able to puzzle some decent veterans and stalk them with timing and hands skills.
For some top heavyweights, he wouldn't pose that much of a problem, but for any shaky prospect, he could be hell.

Thanks everyone! im on a new mission! cruiserweight would be tough for me. But I could make it if I had to. I just don't feel that there is a good enough reason to go down there. Im looking forward to my future! Thanks again everyone!
