Late results from South Korea and apologies
09/18/2014

Although we try our hardest some bouts do pass us by and a number of those occurred on August 30th in South Korea. We've not managed to get all of the results through we do know that there was two notable results on the show that we feel fans deserve to know about.

Arguably the most famous fighter on the show was Su-Yun Hong (9-1-1, 5) who fought to a draw with fellow Korean Dan-Bi Kim (9-3-2, 2). This bout, from what we've been told, finished due to a technical draw though details certainly aren't clear at the moment.

Although Hong, a former WBO female Minimumweight champion, was the highest profile fighter on the show she was only in the co-feature and the main event was a WBC Youth Super Bantamweight title fight. This saw Ye-Joon Kim (9-1-2, 4) successfully defend his title with a stoppage victory over Thailand's Susu Sithjadaeng (7-5, 2). From what we understand this bout was stopped in round 4 to give Kim his first defense of the belt.

In total there were a further 10 bouts on the show though unfortunately we've not received all the results from the card.

I think there are a few South Korean shows missing from the boxrec database, admittedly none with fighters like Hong missing. Hong's record in that article is 100% correct as it's taken from the KBF themselves.

Yes, but this is KBA... and apparently, nobody wants to enter their shows. BoxRec must have their reasons...!

Do you know what those reasons are? It does not seem fair to the fighters, especially the winners, to keep the results off their records.

Today's Korean show has thrown me as it was sanctioned by the KBC apparently but the KBC no longer exist as a professional body do they? They announced they would become the KBF a few months back. The titles link back to the old KBC belts which surely should be the new KBF belts?

The KPBF seem to exist but half of their shows are missing.

*feels very lost on the Korean front all of a sudden*...it was easier when Korean boxing was dead...
