Rocky Fielding V Paul Smith after handbags on twitter

Post by manwhobets »

Rocky was on the ale (I Think) when Paul Smith was fighting. Rocky tweeted

"I'll lamp the two of these early #FACT"

He got loads of absue so he deleted the tweet. (People supported him as well. Said he would bang them out as well)

Anyway he sobered up the next day and texted nice tweets about Paul

Joe Selkirk made a tweet in reference to Rocky (I think)

You have to be a first class shithouse to tweet all bollocks then delete them!! #boxing

Anyway who would win in a fight Rocky or Paul?

If it happens, I think Rocky wins via late stoppage, but then I said the same about Abraham....

Thing that annoys me with smith is that he's shaking AA's hand when he says rematch & on kalle like a terrier but I guarantee he'd relenquish his title & wait for the opportunity.really he should of faced the best available opponent for his British & been confident in order to face AA who smith thinks is past it & judging by the way he winced every time smith touched his body, I think his days are numberd with the blue print firmly in place

This fight will never happen - Smith thinks that he is above Fielding and as such will not give him the "opportunity".

How has smith got the "opportunity" with his run of opponents of late? Eddie did an amazing job getting him the shot! As for the result,he lost. No robbery he lost not as wide as some judges had it but he lost.

Because the WBO rank fighters higher than they sometimes deserve to be, if those fighters have the right backers. German based "world" champs get a disproportionate number of contenders from Europe to help maintain lucrative defences. Froch holds the WBA (minor) and IBF belts, and the WBA and IBF rank Rocky Fielding in their top ten. The WBC and WBO don't. WBO champ Arthur Abrahams' top contender is Stielglitz, and the WBO obligingly also rank German based Tyron Zeuge too, who's 15-0 and hasn't beaten anyone. These things happen all the time, its the alphabet bodies having an eye on the sort of opponents that the promoters want to line up for title defences, as they get a percentage of the total purse. You can see it coming sometimes.

^ The WBO have Ali Raymi at what, 7 or something?

They had a Russian dude ranked for about nine months after he was dead, once. I mean, FFS, I'm sure if I emptied out my piggie-bank they'd probably rank me (but possibly only for the title of "Biggest Arsehole").

& also: how did all those fighters from the same geographical area suddenly become eligible for a shot at the IBF bantam title in the last couple years? A cynic would assume foul play of some sort, or something untoward... In any other sport but boxing, anyway. I'm sure Paul Butler's achievements at super-fly swayed them to rank him in the division above after, er, a dozen fights. Or maybe they saw Ward against a "teak-tough African" & forgot what'd happened to him two fights before.

I believe in the 80's some American journalists got a hoax, made up fighter ranked. It was a deliberate prank to demonstrate how the alphabet bodies operate.

Probably completely off the mark here but it wasnt the guy that died fighting Kovalev was it?

Not sure about a Russian fighter, but the WBO moved SMW Darrin Morris from 7th to 5th after he died (awaiting jokes about Calzaghe fighting him).

Their response: "We obviously missed the fact that Darrin was dead. It is regrettable."

Nope, wasn't a Russian, according to Wiki, it was an American boxer called Darrin Morris, who they moved up their rankings after he died twice, & then after issuing a prissy "They're all as bad as us" put down after being caught, didn't remove him after that as "one of the three men ranking the boxers, Gordon Volkman, still had not heard that Morris was dead",

Morris had fought twice, in three years, prior to his death.

It would almost be laughable if it wasnt so serious. Do you know what he died of by the way? I dont remember him, i have to be honest.

he's got a point, I've been a nuisance, it's the daft questions though and the rate he churns them out. He's got a thing for attacking Paul Smith too. Glad you're still dropping by from time to time tho :TU:
