Smith did so well that when the scores were read out he genuinely had a chance of getting a result (in a neutral venue). But the scores were a little absurd to say the least. A split decision or a majority decision would have been fine. Even a unanimous but with a couple of 115-113 scores in there.

Paul should be very proud of his performance. Why so called fans want to criticise a solid, skilled and honest pro in the autumn of his years, who probably hasn’t made a fortune from the sport…I don’t know. The sport needs more guys like Paul.
