As for the comments about punches on gloves…seems like both men hit a lot of leather…if anything Smith’s shots to the body were the cleanest punches of the fight over the 12 rounds.
From one perspective there were some tricky moments for Smith and then when he did have Abraham blowing he had to stay measured.
I scored it 115-114 to Abraham.
Smith did so well that when the scores were read out he genuinely had a chance of getting a result (in a neutral venue). But the scores were a little absurd to say the least. A split decision or a majority decision would have been fine. Even a unanimous but with a couple of 115-113 scores in there.
Paul should be very proud of his performance. Why so called fans want to criticise a solid, skilled and honest pro in the autumn of his years, who probably hasn’t made a fortune from the sport…I don’t know. The sport needs more guys like Paul.
Yeah the American, Spaniard and Hungarian really screwed Smith's chances, always siding with the Germans, that lot.
Or maybe it was the notoriously noisy German crowd.
That...or it's just you, refusing to accept that it was a close fight.
