I do buy the PPV's but this is one too far and the only way to stop the greed is not to buy it, I can't believe that they needed PPV to make this fight, both of them have lost their big fights and are both on the way down. If they wanted too much cash to fight then Hearn should have pointed out the fact that they don't deserve it, it's a case of Tony Who v Nathan Who to the average sports fan and no way will they buy a fight like they would a Froch or Khan one.

I can't believe it - when I first read the thread I genuinely thought it was a joke. I will certainly not be paying PPV for this pretty routine fight and to be honest the promoter and SKY need to take a good look at themselves. Absolute disgrace.

Not realy, Hearn admitted he could have made this fight without PPV but not the card. Obviosely most would rather see two good nights of boxing free then one heavily stacked PPV.

I'm rarely motivated to come on the forum to have a grumble, but this is utter, utter horseshit from Sky and Eddie.

Maybe it's an age thing, but I've just emailed Adam Smith ([email protected]) to complain, something I've never considered in the past.

It's surely only a matter of weeks before I'm writing to my MP about bin collections..

Why get irate? Take away the name-calling and hype and it's a nothing fight between a couple of lads who were absolutely destroyed at world level. Just let it pass you by and leave it for the vicarious hardmen of Liverpool to enjoy. If they have a good night, and the fighters earn decent money, what's the problem?

The overwhelming majority of trade fights are not box office and couldn't be made box office and the ones that are you'd be happy to pay for.

This just isn't PPV, everyone can see it.

Cleverly - average career, guided nicely into a fake world belt and then spanked absolutely spanked by Kovalev.

Bellew - Just average, never been world level, euro level at best, talks a good game then let's us down by not following his gobby mouth with any real moments of true class in his career. If you talk a big game eventually people want results. The Stevenson fight showed that he's massively limited at world level.

I want to see the fight as I'm a boxing fan, but unless they absolutely stack this card then I'm not going to buy it out of principle. They just totally take the piss out of us hardcore boxing fans.

"Supporting Clev v Bellew II, Bury's Scott Quigg will defend his WBA World Super Bantamweight title for the fifth time against TBA (announced shortly) and Doncaster's Jamie McDonnell defends his WBA World Bantamweight title against Colombian Walberto Ramos (23-6-2). Anthony Joshua will face veteran former British title holder Michael Sprott, providing his October 11th contest with Russian Denis Bakhtov goes according to plan.

Super middleweight prospect Callum Smith meets Montenegrin Nikola Sjekloca in an eliminator for the WBC Super Middleweight title. James DeGale MBE and Stephen Smith are also set to feature in 'crunch clashes'."

Sorry but that's not the 'stacked card' I was hoping for. Quigg will end up in another shit defence, McDonnell just doesn't interest me if I'm honest, harsh but true. Joshua will walk through Sprott.

Callum Smith fight is relatively interesting but no PPV.

So the TBA fights really need to be something pretty special or I'll just probably avoid it out of principle. I can afford the £15/£17, I'm sure we all can if we really want to, but why should we be forking out PPVs on top of daft Sky Sports sub fees for fights like this?

It would be more PPV worthy if Bellew & Cleverly had an all in wrestling match than boxing as they have done nothing boxing wise to be top of the bill on a PPV card.

The fake insults, staring out, twitter rubbish is at home at the WWE not as a boxing match.

I normally buy every pay per view fight, but I will not buy this one.

Two fighters who had a decent fight first time around but both got shallacked when when they have stepped up in class. It`s just a domestic fight with no real title on the line. Why should it be pay per view?

Unless there is a stellar undercard I will not even entertain buying this.

I`ll just avoid the result and then sort something out the following morning.

I've mailed Sky letting them know that by Sky HD and normal Sky subscription will both be cancelled if this remains on PPV. I pay for Sky Sports to watch boxing not to be fleeced to watch a domestic scrap between 2 guys who have both come up short at world level.

Although I think this PPV is absolute bollocks & agree with what everyone has posted I think that it will all fall on deaf ears at Sky. Them & Hearn are only interested in making money & as much as I hope this really falls on its arse but I think this could be the first of many average PPV cards.

im not sure how it can 'lose' money

hearn aint daft, he will give both fighters a payscale on PPV sold surely - and maybe even the undercard fighters too (so he covers his loses)

the issue for me is if you pay for sky sports your getting fleeced... I don't so it aint much of an issue

I cancelled Sky Sports last month, only really watch it for the boxing. Wasn't happy with the fights and the commentary was doing my head in. This takes the p*ss, sure there will be some people who still buy it though, fooled by the 'hype'.

I remember reading someone saying Matchroom cards are becoming like WWE. Bellew and Cleverly fighting nobodies on the same card, then arguing and kicking off, all to build hype and try and sell a PPV card for themselves, that is in no way PPV quality.

Ah well.

I swear I thought I'd misread this when I saw it. Christ on a bike! A domestic level punch up of interest is now a PPV fight?

This will get hyped so much on Sky now, it will be sickening. Undoubtedly the Sun will also add some hype. But I just can't see many buying this shite.

Neither is really a name outside their home area and both got smashed recently. Very odd choice.

Should we expect every half decent fight to be PPV? What next?

Scott Harrison - the comeback continues - only £16.95 exclusive to SKY!

Ricky Hatton - sparring for the last time - catch the legend only on SKY Box Office

Kristian Laight - watch his record breaking 200th fight and go for his 17th win on SKY Box Office

It's a shame that this decision will make a lot of people turn against both fighters. It's not their fault. It's the fault of the person who said OK when Eddie asked the question.

This is a disgrace. Hearns a c##t for doing this. Hes turned into everything he said he wouldent be and everything I hate about promoters, squeezing fans for every last penny while offering a substandard product. This is his 1st 50/50 fight in 6 months and he makes it ppv. T##t. All we can do is not buy it and hope it bombs and is out of pocket. This is a good domestic match but nothing more and certainly not ppv. Certainly not in the class of froch vs bute which was on sky. Really hope fans don't buy this most real fans know this is an utter rip off.

It's okay, there's a Montenegrin who managed to run AA closer than Paul Smith fighting Callum on the card in a "WBC eliminator".

I am literally preparing to set fire to sixteen quid as I speak.

Maybe not, didn't Khan have a ppv cancelled once? Think they blamed it on an undercard fight falling through (a heavyweight contest?). If no one buys this in advnace we might see the same, using an "injury" on one of the undercard fighters as an excuse. As for cancelling sky sports, I gave up ages ago on skys quality boxing. Most people have it for the football (imo), other sports like boxing, cricket are a bonus.

Do we have a benchmark on 'really, really, really bad PPV sales numbers'?

1000 buys? 2000? Less?

I'd pay triple the price, if it was a double knockout. Right pair of penises. They are such idiots to be honest. I do not care if Bellew does post here or not, he is a prize cock when talking about his own career.

I would like to be stood next to him on all his IFL interviews to interject with reason and truth every ten seconds.

Ditto Hearn. You watch his 30 minute one on ones and it drives you mad, you want to stop him and correct him all the time. I hate how he talks like he is the world authority. He inherited a great brand, try building one yourself pal.
