How would HW sized Soliman, Maidana do against Klitschko
How would you see a fight between Wladimir Klitschko and a headgeared Marcos Maidana play out? I know the size advantage would be massive but do you think if there is at least a small possibility that Maidana could hurt Wlad IF he managed to connect. Or do you believe that Klitschko would even outpoint a full metal armored Maidana? I know it's a little bit silly but i like to play with the idea lol.
Ok now i believe the majority of you don't believe Maidana having any success/chance so let's take it a step further. Let's say if Marcos would be Wlad's size, how would he mesh with him then? I think that his aggressive/come forward style could pose problems.
Sometimes i wish i could see how a lower weight class fighter would do if they had the size of a heavyweight but still bring the exact same foot speed/movement/hand speed with them.
One fighter which i particularly would like to see is Sam Soliman. Imagine him being the same size as Wlad but bring that same awkward/constant pressure type of style with him. He wouldn't even need the extra punching power to outbox him. Imo one of Soliman's greatest strength is to hit/batter his opponent during a clinch. He has that ability to kinda trick his opponents during clinches - no matter if he's the initiator or not. And that is a SKILL! I think Wlad would have his hands full of Soliman all night long!
Also Floyd, Bhop, Pac would be very interesting matchups! Would pay to see them in the heavy's.
I know the actual weight difference between them would be around 100 pounds but sometimes it's interesting to think about it.
What lower weight fighters would you like to see in your fantasy matchups vs Klitschko? Just kinda imagine you could add size to a boxer just like you can do it in NBA 2K My player mode.
Oh and i almost forgot about Roy Jones Jr...
YA'LL MUST HAVE FORGOT!!!!!

Very interesting question.
I often have the same thoughts about a fight between a 900lb Siberian Tiger and a Honey Badger who is equipped with a katana and has had ten years of samurai training.

Kids, get back to your pacifiers and rattle toys and let adults discuss real boxing.

I think you can achieve all that by playing 'Fight Night' on any of your video game consoles...

The other day I was thinking about Kovalev vs a top heavyweight and thought it was too silly to post. Now I come her and see this

I was thinking along these same lines when I read his post
How would HW sized Soliman, Maidana do against Klitschko
But think if Kovalev or some other guy would be the exact size of Klitschko. I agree i should maybe have not posted the armored Maidana part and kept the fascinating thought to myself. But the main point in my thread is how would small weight class fighters do if they would be the size of a heavyweight.hulkmaniac wrote:The other day I was thinking about Kovalev vs a top heavyweight and thought it was too silly to post. I also changed the headline because some tend to not read further than it and immediately start to criticize. The right headline can sometimes mean much. Do not be carried away by other criticizers much like in the Smith vs Abraham fight where people were blinded by the commentary or general British boxing public opinion and crying a robbery. That was ridiculous! Critique can sometimes be contagious!
I was just trying to have a decent conversation here about fantasy BOXING matchups not about a 900 pound Siberian tiger facing a skilled Honey Padger.
But if the majority of you guys feel that THIS subject is not worth discussing and is absolute sh.t then i would be happy to delete it. I respect this forum and all the polite users and apologize to you if this post is inappropriate.

be nowhere even close to the same as it is now. That is the hard part of p4p mythical match ups.
If we are seriously talking about a 6 feet 7 inch dirty brawler.WOW!!! That would be an awesome sight

Brawlers don't work in the heavyweight division, because the power behind the punches is much stronger. Your typical Maidana or Salido would get knocked out very often if they would be heavyweights and fight the same style. And against Klitschko it's even more comical because he has one of the most powerful straight right hand in history. You simply cannot take the same punishment that a lot of boxers can take at middleweight. Well except maybe Shannon Briggs who has had his brains beaten out of his skull a couple of times and still somehow lived.

The headline reminded me of an old school SNL skit where the Chicago boys talk about Da..Bears and a bunch of little mini Mike Ditkas.
Re: How would HW sized Soliman, Maidana do against Klitschko
This needs to go in the boxrec hall of fame/infamy
Re: How would HW sized Soliman, Maidana do against Klitschko
Very enjoyable posts! Thank you!
One Heavyweight who has that brawler Maidana like mentality is Carlos Takam. And i must add Garrett Wilson and Amir Mansour
also to the mix - they come forward with bad intentions and are tough durable guys. But their all shorter fighters. I guess the closest thing to a tall brawler at the moment is indeed Tyson Fury.

Honey Badger wins unless he was over 5 when his samurai training began cuz I gotta figure a 15yr+ old honey badger is middle age to ancient in honey badger years & vs a 900lb tiger he's gonna need to be in his prime.jezzamundo wrote:Very interesting question.

How about a middleweight sized Klitschko vs. Soliman,
and a super lightweight sized Klitschko vs. Maidana?
and a super lightweight sized Klitschko vs. Maidana?
Re: How would HW sized Soliman, Maidana do against Klitschko
Klitschko would be outboxed by Soliman and KO'd by Maidana IMO. Of course as long as he doesn't bing that same heavyweight power with him haha.

But what if you gave a fighter a blood transfusion with tiger blood?
I mean would that give them more killer instinct or just hepatitis/HIV? Or turn them into Charlie Sheen?
