Froch Retiring

I will be very sad to see him go. Will be a huge loss to boxing. True meaning of a fighter. Guy with limited physical attributes but the heart of a lion.

I would like to thank Froch for providing me with some of the most exciting matches I have ever seen.

I bow my head to you sir!

Didn't he and Pascal become friends and promise to have a rematch. Pascal has nobody to fight, why not him?

This guy talks so much shit like he's great.

He was dominated by the best and still wasn't humbled. He talks about being a real man and all that shit but never tried to get revenge on Ward. Instead, he's trying to set up a trilogy with Kessler ... pathetic ... he was so eager to have that rematch.

Froch is good fighter, but come on.

Froch mentions Ward quite often TBH, but Eddie Hearn has no interest in making the fight as Ward would expect a disproportionate purse for the small audience he brings.
I don't think Froch will retire just yet, but I doubt he will fight Degale as the event would be in danger of becoming a poor man's Froch/Groves

Would love to see him in there with Golovkin but I can't see Froch or his team wanting to make that. They're always going on about Chavez Jnr but the real test would be Golovkin at 168lbs.

Froch should retire, he's well exceeded the expectations and proved time and time again he's one of the toughest guys in the business. Sorry to the GGG nuthuggers, but GGG has done nothing to deserve a shot at taking Froch's throne and brings next to nothing to the table financially. I know for a fact if GGG was serious about fighting Froch, he could get that fight, Froch is that kind of fighter. But GGG won't move up to SMW to make this fight happen. I know how the delusional GGG nuthuggers are though, they will some how spin it and try to claim Froch retired just to duck GGG, when I can guarantee Froch wouldn't turn this fight down if things were in order.

Froch vs GGG in England would be huge and could definitely become a PPV event.

I would actually agree with him that a JCC fight is a lot more interesting than DeGale. Other than that or maybe a Ward rematch, I don't know what else there is for him to do. Maybe a Kessler rubber match would have been interesting if Kessler were still an active and successful fighter, but he's been effectively retired for a year and a half now. I'll pass on that.

Would love to see Froch fight GGG. Would be a great match up and fans would go wild over here for it.

I just feel it’s too early in Golovkin’s career to move up. If I were his adviser I’d tell him to stay at 160 and mop up everyone there while he can still make the weight.

fergusg wrote:It really does surprise me that so many people are getting rather animated about a potential Carl Froch-Gennady Golovkin bout!

Let’s not forget that immediately after his one-sided domination of a faded version of Daniel Geale, Gennady said that his focus was cleaning-up the 160lb weight division, which was a direct response to Team GGG constantly misusing Andre Ward’s name to hype-up their guy.

The ironic thing is… so many people are claiming that “fear” and a lack of payday as the reasons why opponents are “ducking” Golvokin, but then Tom Loeffler says the very same thing when he rules out an Andre Ward bout, because GGG would want too much money to go up in weight to fight the American.

If Gennady says that his plans are to clean-up the middleweight division, because let’s face it - he has yet to face a top-tier world-class middleweight that is in their prime… and HBO, Eddie Hearn and Carl Froch are claiming a GGG bout is not worthy of a PPV, then it’s fair to say that a Froch-Golovkin bout is probably never going to materialise!

So engaging in heated arguments about “who’s ducking who”, when discussing the potential of a Froch-GGG fight, is purely a redundant exercise!
Gennady's team has always been saying that they are ready to fight at 168 or 154 if the money is right. They were ready to fight JCCJ, but it didn't work due to Chavez/Arum issues. The same way they are ready to fight Froch, but Froch said that he doesn't need to be in the ring with Gennady at this time of his career. The only reason Hearn is saying that the fight is not PPV worthy is because he agrees with Froch that Gennady is too good for him now.

I dont know if it's because he thinks that GGG is too good for him per se but rather that it's too much of a gruelling fight at this stage of Carl's career.

I may be among the most worthless posters but you are definitely leading the list in front of Brut. Before calling somebody dumb, learn to spell in your native language. Floyd has an excuse: he is at least very good at something. You are worthless in everything, so what is your excuse ?

Yeah but too good would be indicating that they dont believe Froch could win it. That part I disagree with. It would be a very tough fight though whatever the outcome.

They don't believe that Froch has GOOD CHANCES to win while they believe that he has good chances to get hurt.

No, you're just a worthless POS in general. No other way to spin it. Obviously you need spelling lessons, just a word of advice make sure someone actually spells something incorrectly before your dumb ass calls someone out on a spelling error lmao!! So, you are saying that "a bases" is correct ??? Are you so dumb to insist. People who know English say "on a daily basis". Spit the sh1t from your mouth and go back to school. Hopefully, even with your pathetic IQ, you can learn something.

Froch has fought enough wars by now to fight whoever he wants at this point. I can see why any 168 would want Chavez. Big money and pretty easy win.

I can see GGG not being thrilled about traveling to England to fight Froch in his backyard where a decision will be super tough to win so I don't think that fight happens.

Froch-GGG in Vegas sounds great to me. I don't care to see Carl hammer JCC but I'm sure that's what he's chasing. I see no motivation for Carl to fight DeGale honestly.

Pretty much agree with all this, except I would like to see Carl/JCC.
