You don't have to buy Sky either. In this day and age you can pick and choose what you watch without much hassle and with very little expense.

Aye, you've nailed it Gaz. It's not about don't like it dont buy it in this case. I'm already 'buying' it by paying a healthy fvcking sub to Sky to see some quality boxing. However what I get is a pile of left hand of the card wins and Scott Quigg 'World' title fights. Now I'm expected to fork out extra for a fight between two guys who couldn't cut it at light heavy in a reasonably parallel way so as to justify a rematch that few outside of the Bellew camp were calling for in the first place.

This isn't about jumping on Bandwagons. The reason there is a 'bandwagon' is that this is such an obvious rip off that damn near everyone agrees - it's merely common sense to think this is out of order.

Hearn is now just rolling out the same old pish that comes with an exclusive contract with Sky. No amount of Ringside can build this up into a fight that really matters. Neither fighter is at world level at Cruiser, neither fighter will be after the fight, so why the fvck as a boxing fan should I have to pay extra beyond the extra I already pay to see what is little more than a evenly matched decent domestic fight, which will likely go down a very similar route to the first one unless Kovalev really has left Cleverly as damaged goods.

Rant over.
That's a good post

Defending what tho????????

If I had my way it would be free and so would clothes food beer woman and so on but the fact of the matter is the fights people want to see can't be made without big money and the only way u get big money is with box office.

Everything I have said is a fact! U may not like what I'm saying But it's true.

People saying oh thanks for that Eddie, Jesus all I'm doing is pointing out the very obvious. How can u have a go at me when I'm telling u the reason it's ppv ???

In America they have ppv for everything boxing wrestling UFC all sorts and they charge $80+ so for £15 I don't think it's too bad. Of course I would like it for free, I would also like sky for free too but I have to pay for that.

All these people that constantly moan why don't u please tell us how to make these fights without the ppv money?????

Cleverly v bellow can easily be made without ppv just like anyother domestic level fight. If froch vs bute wasent ppv then neither should this.

Right...whilst in Japan they have the best fights in terrestrial TV, including things like the upcoming Yamanaka Vs Suriyan and Ao Vs Salgado show, or the recent Yaegashi Vs Gonzalez / Inoue Vs Samartlek and Murata show...I wonder why the sport is growing in Japan and they are about to have a Golden generation lead by the Inoue brothers, Kosei Tanaka et al whilst boxing in the US is needing to import interesting fighters and boxing in the UK struggles to attract mainstream interest.

Fights deserve to get paid, of course they do, though maybe the ones nearer to the top need to take a paycut in the short term to help them in the long run

It's not even true anyway though regarding all fights in america being PPV. There's a lot of fights i'd consider better than Cleverly vs Bellew 2 that are on fox cards or even standard showtime or HBO which is the equivalent of sky.

I can guarantee u that no card in america will have an under card on as good as the belelw clev fight that isnt ppv so that quote u have done is irrelevant.

If this was bellew v clev and a poor under card id agree with u 100% but the fact of the matter is the under card is huge and packed with top top names.

sky must have around 2/3 ppv fights a year so thats around £45. IMO thats not too bad to see some big shows and big fights as well as all the other free shows on sky

That is the key point here. Why could Froch v Bute be done sans PPV? Because it was a big fight with a significant internatonal take-up. Bellew v Clev 2 holds no interest to anybody away from these shores. It's a domestic fight between domestic fighters. The only reason this is being sold as a 'big fight' is because Anthong is a hothead. Why offer them big money?

The fight's only being talked about because of this PPV nonsense (all publicity...).

The point is, mate, it's not even a big fight. Moore-Macklin and Moore-Rhodes were just as big. And there is no need to pad out the undercard just to justify PPV. Or if they insist, do something along the lines of Fwanks original Magnificent 7 where at least the original line up looked decent.

I'm sure Sauerland said on Ringside before the Haye-Klitschko fight was agreed that Germany doesn't have PPV either. So in the UK we eventally got charged 15 quid for a fight which took place & was screened without extra charges in Germany.

That was bad enough, but at least that fight was a big event - this one clearly isn't.

You're quite right Germany doesn't do PPV either.

The countries that do do PPV on a regular basis are the US, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, parts of Scandinavia and Poland I think. Pretty disappointing really though in fairness the PPV's they get in New Zealand are embarassing.

I don't understand what there was about the first fight that warrants a PPV return, it was hardly Froch v Groves I. If it is purely because they don't like each other can't they go in a pub car park or somewhere and sort things and then Hearn can put the rest of the card on SKY Sports as normal.

I don't think Cleverly could give a fornicate about Bellew, Tony may have worked himself up so much that he now hates Cleverly, but until there was a chance of fighting him he didn't care either, then he lost, they were acting like they were mates, nothing happens, now he's claiming to hate him again.

First part of the hype complete. Tell everyone that the fight is 'sold out' and in record time for the arena via ticketing websites.

Don't let the public know how to get tickets through other avenues
