Gennady Golovkin vs Marco Antonio Rubio - UK TV?!?!?
Gennady Golovkin vs Marco Antonio Rubio - UK TV?!?!?
Im surprised none of the UK TV stations has bought the TV rights to show this?!?!? Two World title fights and both 5 stars!!!
Theres nothing on Boxn@tion that Saturday (armed forces the day before)...
Theres also Sky, Eurosport and BT Sports...
I mean if you pay for Sky Sports, Boxn@tion, Europosort and BT Sports you would except to be able to see arguably the P4P No.1 (almost certainly after Mayweather retires) defend his title(s)!
Serious question(s)... If none of the above TV stations buy the TV rights to this event, what would stop say Channel 5 (who currently broadcast boxing) coming in and buying the TV rights last minute for a low price? Or even Sky making it Box Office (better then Clev vs Bell)?
I mean K2 Promotions and Top Rank would still get more money even if they sold the TV rights to Channel 5 for really cheap wouldnt they??? Or put it up on Box Office for say only £5??? Surely its better than getting nothing at all from the UK audience.

GGG vs Rubio is not a five star fight. Rubio got starched in a round at 154lbs and he'll get blasted out by GGG. When the fight is over with nobody will say that was a five star match up, they'll say that was a knock over job. He is not slick enough to get out of the way, he will get flattened. Glad its been picked up on British TV though.

While I agree that it's not a top fight, Rubio's loss to Jantuah was anomalous. I don't believe he's been seriously hurt other than that instance and fighters like Pavlik, Lemieux, and Chavez Jr. didn't come close to dropping him.JimJim2009 wrote:GGG vs Rubio is not a five star fight. The Jantuah fight always comes into my head when I read about Rubio. If he takes GGG the distance my posting is going to turn out to be the posting of a twat : )crusader wrote:While I agree that it's not a top fight, Rubio's loss to Jantuah was anomalous.
