Did that really happen?
Didn't see it. Did he lose legitimately? I cannot believe I even read this.

Close fight but Dawson he should be done, Haymon may keep him alive to be fed as an opponent

Re: Bad Chad
I had it a draw 95-95. But could have went other way with no controversy
Both fighters did very little outside of a few rare exchanges - past the 6th it didn't seem like either fighter wanted it much
Dawson didn't use left hand hardly at all in last 3 rounds
Though he claimed he hurt his shoulder in the 3rd round
I didn't think it was that early on
Fight was very winnable for chad he just wasn't very active
He also got stung a couple times in the fight and I think getting KOd in 2 fights is really in his head now

Re: Bad Chad
He did hurt his left arm early and didn't use it in the last 4 rounds at all.
Re: Bad Chad
Legitimate loss.
Dawson is finished but Karpency isn't as bad as often depicted. He was up 5-1 on two cards against Fonfara and had him in trouble immediately prior to withdrawing due to injury.

Re: Bad Chad
I cant believe anyone could defend this for someone with the natural ability/skills of Dawson. This is a joke. I dont care if he had 1.5 arms.
Re: Bad Chad
I am not defending him. He should retire. However, the injury at least partially explains why he looked so poor.diddy wrote:I cant believe anyone could defend this for someone with the natural ability/skills of Dawson. This is a joke. I dont care if he had 1.5 arms.

Dawson has lost 3 of his past 4 now and probably needs to revaluate after this loss.ttornado wrote:the fightdiddy wrote:Lost to Karpency?!?

Re: Bad Chad
The B-Hop curse is real. Dawson is too gunshy and chinny, he is done.
Re: Bad Chad
Didn't see it but read that some thought Dawson fought better with one arm than two.
Re: Bad Chad
Chad Dawson looked like he hurt his hand during the fight, that said it was probably not the only factor that lead to his loss.
Dawson looked completely unmotivated and uninspired.
No doubt the fight was close and up for grabs right up until the final bell, I could have seen a draw but have no complaints that Karpency got the nod.

Re: Bad Chad
Natural ability don't guarantee a win theres a lot of other attributes that make up a pro boxer such as fitness, stamina, mental strength and simply "turning up " on the night. If natural ability was the be all and end all then boxing wouldn't be as fun and unpredictable as it is.diddy wrote:I cant believe anyone could defend this for someone with the natural ability/skills of Dawson. Re: Bad Chad
When you lose to a guy with far inferior talent who was brought in specifically for you to slap around and get a much-needed win, it's probably time to call it a career. It isn't going to get any better

Good luck to Tommy I say its a tough business and its nice to see an "opponent" catch a break and maybe earn a few quid off the back of this
Re: Bad Chad
I would almost lay money on him being Braehmer's next opponent in Germany. Perfect "title defense" for Braehmer since Tommy has already been shelled by Fonfara, Cleverly and Murat and doesn't have a big punch. At least he'd get a good paycheck to travel to Germany and lose to Braehmerlittlepug wrote:Good luck to Tommy I say its a tough business and its nice to see an "opponent" catch a break and maybe earn a few quid off the back of this

Re: Bad Chad
It's like he forgot how defend properly. He also came into the fight with no real game plan, it seemed. It's hard to believe that the guy I watched last night clearly beat Bernard Hopkins not long ago. He definitely hurt his shoulder in the 3rd. But, he was looking lack luster even before that injury. I believe he probably would have pulled off the victory had he not hurt his shoulder. However, he has still slid quite a bit. Looks to me that he lost his confidence and is just going through the motions at this point. Very sad..

Re: Bad Chad
I had it 6-4 Karpency, or even 7-3 Karpency.
Dawson clearly lost. I think that hulkamaniac's point is true. Dawson used to be able to handcuff opponents with his reach, footwork and activity. Last night, he did none of these things.
Even if Chad was injured in the 3rd, the first round was close and the second was clearly Karpency's. I don't think Dawson was going to win easily anyway. In fact, all of the punches of any consequences were landed by Karpency. Dawson landed a couple of good uppercuts, but Karpency easily shrugged them off.
Dawson looked really bad from the bell. More than anything, he was too easy to hit all night long.
It seems like he's done.

Just watched this travesty. Couldnt find 6 rounds for Karpency. 5 tops. Poor decision.

I thought Dawson switched trainers again until I found out his trainer couldn't make it and his conditioning coach had to sub in.

Re: Bad Chad
Bad Chad certainly lived up to his nickname; even with one arm he should be able to beat the Karpency’s of the world, he doesn’t look interested to me at the moment, if I were him I would go back to the drawing board reignite the fire and then give boxing one more shot

For what? After what just happened he would make more as a sparring partner.clubberlang wrote:Bad Chad certainly lived up to his nickname; even with one arm he should be able to beat the Karpency’s of the world, he doesn’t look interested to me at the moment, if I were him I would go back to the drawing board reignite the fire and then give boxing one more shot

Re: Bad Chad
Chad had a good career. Nothing to be ashamed of. But now its time to hang them up.
