Yeah I remember that - think it was live on Channel 5 (the producers must have been panicking)

Bellew didn't even do his "hold me back" routine.
That might be the funniest thing ive seen on TV that, what was more funny was the flak Fury took on here for his "East 17 cap" he was wearing

Ah good times,i miss Tyson Fury

Yep. Whatever anyone says about Fury he's pure entertainment. The sport and life in general needs more plonkers like him!

He is articulate when being a pundit but comes over as a total numbskull when building up a fight.
He has never come close to backing up any of his gobby rubbish.
If you are reading this, Tony, please explain.
It's a good point.

Tony is extremely articulate & intelligent, yet his behviour towards opponents before fights is totally at odds with his intelligence level.

It's almost as if he's Jekyll & Hyde & seemingly cannot control his behaviour.

I'm also at a loss as to why he hates Cleverly so much.

OK, I wouldn't expect him to buy Nathan tea & biscuits if they met in the street, but I can't really remember Cleverly doing anything to Bellew that would make Tony hate him that much.

He is but he refers to himself as a scouser I think. Technically just outside Liverpool I believe

He's a good guy. Just gets a bit hot-headed and psychologically into 'fight mode' as soon as it's signed, rather than the last week or so like most fighters. The closeness of the Cleverly fight, and the fact the rematch wasn't made at the time, understandably got to him, and his carried it with him ever since.

Yeah Runcorn isn't Liverpool I guess but I'm sure I've heard him call himself a scouser before, maybe when talking about an "all scouse" clash with Dodson :TU:

Depends what you mean by World champion.

If you go down that road then you could even include Colin Dunne (WBU) and Gary Ryder (WBF), but they don't compare to Conteh or Hoko.

Bellew was pretty good when he was suited up and commentating one show earlier this year. He was very aware and astute with everything he saw and appraised it perfectly.

Therefore, he is obviously switched on - and as long as people form an opinion of him (good or bad) then that's better than being someone that nobody has any real opinion of whatsoever.

The fact that people are drawn to vent their disdain about him, shows that he is their thoughts.

Mission completed.

Very boring boxer. Shame his in ring performance isn't as entertaining than his trash talking. All mouth, then steps in the ring then he's as exciting as watching Garden Force

I dont think anyone doubts Bellew is a good pundit,i like him anyway but its his behaviour towards Cleverly i find baffling, granted Tony's still active so of course he's gonna get into a bit of verbal tennis with fellow boxers but the way he speaks about Nathan is bordering on obsession,Bellew even claimed he'd rather avenge the defeat to Cleverly rather than win a world title which is lunacy

And to make this all worse is the reason for the disdain towards Clev, because Nathan told Tony in the ring that it was a tough fight then said otherewise at the post fight presser???

Im sure Tony has done the exact same thing with the countless Argies he's fought,Tony should know the game as much as anyone, its boxing not the Jeremy Kyle lie detector results, boxings full of bluff and bravado and they dont come much more excitable than Bomber

Another thing which has already been mentioned countless times is if Bellew was so weight drained at LHW then why did he hang about long after the defeat to Cleverly??

90% of the stuff that fighters spout is poppycock anyhow, either their selling a fight or emotions are running a little high, most of its cliched

Maybe Bomber had a bad holiday there once & is transferring his rage to Nathan.

Willing to "die" in the ring. "Gonna smash this midget". Then turns his back when the going got tough.

It's a scouse thing basically, all the front and threats. As many people have said, he seems like a decent bloke away from his own fights and I think he does a great job as a pundit.

With the build up job they have to do for this PPV I can only see him having to sink to new lows to advertise the fight.

Reckon Cleverly does him again.

Ellesmere Port's the other side of the Mersey, Wirral/Cheshire, they're all born in Chester. Runcorn's the other side of the Mersey too, both are 10-15 miles away from Liverpool, neither Reid nor Butler are scousers.

Tony seems a complicated fellow, he used to post here and he was sound, he gave his opinions and didn't rise to personal digs. I liked how he came across on here but not how he comes across before a bout.

I've never minded bellew, he seems a nice enough bloke. Just wears his heart on his sleeve a bit. I can't believe in 2014 that boxing fans get up in arms about trash talking.

I find BJS much more of a twat nowadays. Used to be a big fan of his boxing ability but what with his racist and homophobic "banter" on ifilm, not to mention his talk of "crews" seeing off the Eubanks and finding male rape humorous, I think he's a complete twat. See THAT kind of talks out of order, saying cleverley was a paper champ isn't.

Wanted him to beat Eubank at first but now I hope he gets smashed. And I can't believe BBBC let him get away with it. If it was Tyson fury he'd have been fined thousands. Something should be done.
