Sprott may pose more of an offensive threat but he is definitely getting knocked out. No idea who they plan on after this tho. Either they go in against the likes of Cornish or press past that and aim for guys like Manuel Charr who are that slight step up from guys like Bakhtov. They might want Kevin Johnson who poses absolutely no offensive threat but could take him the distance too. In saying that if we have one of our refs reffing it Johnson might get stopped too.
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
When did they change the rule about a boxer being interviewed in the ring?
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
Is it just me or when Joshua talks he sounds like he's had extensive media training and knows all the right things to say? Hence the comments regarding Bahktov never fighting a guy from england in regards to how durable he was and not being stopped like that before. Sort of like he knew by saying that he'd get the public onside.
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
Joshua needs fast tracking he is clearly gonna wipe Sprott out next month in 3 rounds.
Give him Kevin Johnson next or give Lucas Browne a decent payday and Rip the commonwealth from him.
I also think attacking wise he is miles better than David Price the killer questions are has he got a defence and fitness in latter stages of fights ???

Why do people think that Bakhtov is durable?
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
fornicate me, how Price morphed into Bellew? Haha.
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
Joshua is the first heavyweight I've genuinely been excited about since Bowe and Lennox turned over. If the kid's chin is decent and he can learn to clinch, there's no stopping him.
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
I don't think Joshua is going to be a huge puncher for a guy of his size (on the scale of Lewis, Bruno, Wlad, etc) but he's still have the power to get plenty of KOs.lefty wrote:Yeah I tend to agree with that statement.crusader wrote:I'd say Price at this point. I think he has legitimate one punch power while Joshua is more of a clubber.lefty wrote:Bigger hitter.... Joshua or Price?
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
Still think he has a Bruno-esque stiffness about him though.Sklar wrote:Joshua is the first heavyweight I've genuinely been excited about since Bowe and Lennox turned over. If the kid's chin is decent and he can learn to clinch, there's no stopping him.

No, Fury is better and smarter than people think. Fury would go eventually but it will be later in the fight.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Would love to see Joshua in with Fury. Would it go three rounds ?

When they decided this lad could potentially generate hundreds of millions.jonp wrote:When did they change the rule about a boxer being interviewed in the ring?

Price hits harder but Joshua does everything else better.
It was good to see him be a bit spiteful. I want to see more of that. Sprott next, which isn't lasting too long.
Eddie needs to ease up a little but a few here seem to be overly negative. Going to be entertaining watching it all unfold.
Remember, Bakhtov had plenty of prep time and he doesn't get stopped easily. Joshua is a real exciting prospect.

Anyone else noticing a change in the way Price is talking? Haha. Seems like a different fella.

He has to do something to get noticed or he'll drift into obscurity.lefty wrote:Anyone else noticing a change in the way Price is talking? Haha. Seems like a different fella.

Very true. It seems like he fancies the fight anyway.Sklar wrote:He has to do something to get noticed or he'll drift into obscurity.lefty wrote:Anyone else noticing a change in the way Price is talking? Haha. Seems like a different fella.

I think we need to be wary of going over board here on Joshua. Everyone was saying the same about Price 2 years ago.
Assuming Chisora loses to Fury next month he'd be a real test in about a years time.

Yeah, he's pissed because he had the same hype before, and he wants to get him before anyone else does and KOs him.lefty wrote:Anyone else noticing a change in the way Price is talking? Haha. Seems like a different fella.
The Hype is stupid. Make him fight someone his own size.

Still too early to proclaim him the next champ let alone next atg heavyweight.
I'm on the bandwagon but I can't buy in to all this hype just yet.

He was doing exactly the same aswell with similar type opposition. If not more destructive.ThereByTheGrace wrote:Yeah, he's pissed because he had the same hype before, and he wants to get him before anyone else does and KOs him.lefty wrote:Anyone else noticing a change in the way Price is talking? Let loose and go with the flow! This is the first one i've bought into for over twenty years and I'm going to lap the hype up.

The thing is, not everyone was when it came to Price. Plenty here, me included, questioned if he could win a title. I couldn't get past the hiding he got off Cammarelle and various other canvas visits as an am.SteveDow wrote:I think we need to be wary of going over board here on Joshua. Price didn't have half the hype or attention that Joshua is getting.
Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
I'm pretty sure he'll become a world champion. Whether he becomes a dominant one like Wlad is a different story though.lillywhite14 wrote:Still too early to proclaim him the next champ let alone next atg heavyweight.

Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
I won't fully join the hype until I see him get nailed right on the jaw, and what happens then. But I love what I see so far. He COULD be a star.
And Sauerland will keep Price WELL away from him for the time being, regardless of what Price says.

Re: Official boxrec discussion thread -London 02 bill 11/10/2014
Price v Joshua would clearly be a case of who lands first and arguably the fight is as risky for both. I'd be surprised if Joshua could take a full blown shot from Price and vice versa. If I were Hearn I'd much sooner put Joshua in with Chisora or Fury who don't carry the same one punch explosive power.
