"Paaaaaul RAAAAAAAREURGH!!!"
Translation: "Paul Smith".
McDonald is terrible. I sincerely hope he is cheap and that's the reason they keep him. I believe many a man would do a better job: where the hell is Michael Pass when you need him?

He's a blight on all Matchroom shows. Boxing isn't darts.

I doubt that I'll ever forget the Paul Smith introduction. One of the funniest things I've seen in the ring.

He the best in the business is John
Re: John Mcdonald
I have met him briefly once or twice and he is an absolute gentleman, he is a very good MC as well.
Re: John Mcdonald
I love his occasional balls-up. It's part of the fun.
Infact if I was Paul Smith , I'd get him to do me a personal answerphone message saying "Hi , this is Paul Rrrrggggnnnnnnh !!! and I am currently unavailable to take your message."

Re: John Mcdonald
The guy is a joke for anyone to say he is the best in the business is either good mates with him or deaf as a post!
He can't pronunce any name, every fight is fight of the year and when announcing split decisions his tone gives it away every time! If a match room fighter he is buzzing and if not close to suicidal. Suited to matchroom the way they are heading

Re: John Mcdonald
I actually think he is very good - normally very clear and crisp
It is maybe because he is Matchroom based and does the darts etc - may come across to purists as a non specialist when it comes to the boxing
The Its Fight Night Liveeeeee introduction possibly doesn't do him any favours

The man's an idiot and belongs in a bingo hall. Eddie probably uses him as he works for peanuts.
Re: John Mcdonald
I just can't take to him or Mark Burdiss as MC's, if John cut out the catchphrases and unnecessary growling it would be a start, I always thought Michael Pass was far superior but for whatever reason isn't used at all now

Oh come on, lets be serious here.
You can't let the fact he's a lovely man cloud the fact that he is an awful ring announcer.
I remember having a very similar conversation about Michael Pass and people on here telling me how nice a bloke he was.
He could be fecking Ghandi for all i care, he had a bloody horrible voice and should never have been given a microphone

I love him !
Who else could you get who threatens to spew over boxers just waiting to do battle.
Just look at the apprehensive faces .
