Whats the opinion on Joshua last night?

He looks good so far, at this stage but it's hard to say as:

He's in with people that are not there to win
He's good offensively but little is coming back
He is wiiiide open to the left hand

That said, he really impresses me and I like the look of him

If he fought Wilder next do you think he would win? I`m not so sure he would.

I think he`d do Price in a round.

I think Wilder has bigger chin issues than Price does. He is an explosive KO waiting to happen.

I hope Sprott pulls out. Would rather him fight someone durable so he can showcase skills and learn as the rounds go on. Kevin Johnson or TT spring to mind.

Too early for Thompson or Johnson. Sprott is a far more sensible opponent.

Technically he is still improving but he's not that fluid overall. Nice jab and good straight right but hooks need work. Left hand was low at times which a decent heavy could capitalise on. Far too early ro get carried away with the hype. Needs a test soon or he could risk getting a bully mentality. I think Mcracken/Sims may have taken him as far as they can and he'll be looking at experienced heavyweight trainers soon.

Absolutely 100% agree & if the decision isn't made by AJ then they should make it (TS & RM) replace with who though, not as if there's an obvious Manny Steward type that jumps out, no disrespect to Sims or Mcracken they're both class but i think we'll soon be reaching a point where AJ needs his trainer to invest a LOT of their time more than i feel they can due to commitments to other fighters/Olympic team, wonder if Rob Mcracken will fully train any other pro after Froch?

I believe he hits harder than Joshua and if he can build up his stamina I think he would be very dangerous for Joshua to take on.

If Price connects with anyone then it is good night, not sure you can say that with Joshua cause that guy on Saturday took some of his best shots and still kept coming.

I think Price is too slow for Joshua, it might be a matter of who connect first and I think that will be Joshua.

I also do have doubts about Price's killer instinct and desire. He just seems too nice to be a fighter and the one time his back was truly against the wall he didn't look like he wanted it enough for me. Yes, he has come off the deck to win in the past, but they've hardly been big KO's. In the rematch against Thompson his body language was not good from the end of the 3rd Round and he basically quit at the end (okay he took a bit of a beating but he didn't exactly conceal his trouble).

Having said that, I would prefer to see Joshua in with Price than someone who although might give him rounds will just be a punch bag after 30 seconds - which is what Kingpin is.

I really think he could go in with someone like Charr or Christian Hammer now.

Beauty of it though is no particular head shape or neck size determines how well a fighter can take a shot. It's impossible to tell if a fighter is chinny by just looking at him. theres been many a fighter with squat features and no necks who couldn't take a shot.

In my experience, most decent fighters with wide jaws and thick necks, tend to hold a shot better than guys with long skinny necks.

A heavy jawbone helps absorb impact, and a shorter thicker neck, means there is less torsion and pinching of the nerve bundle in the neck.

Price hit Thompson with some big punches but he got up again and carried on. Price has not knocked out any quality opposition. His punches had little effect on the last guy he fought as well.

Joshua would ruin him in a round, as would Wilder.

You know who would be a good test for Joshua? Wach.

He's a big, tall, hard-punching HW with an iron chin. He would definitely give Joshua some rounds.

If I were Joshua's manager, I'd have him fight Johnson, Ustinov, Abell (he's a hard-punching southpaw), and Wach in 2015.

He has been a pro for a year. I don't expect him to be knocking on the door of a world title shot until well into his 3rd and possibly 4th year as a heavyweight, although top amateurs should not be taking longer than four years to reach world level ( unless of course they never reach it! )

Nah, that could be a silly move. They won't risk it yet. The talk of Haye and even Price next year is just that, talk. They can afford to take their time.
