I honestly do not care. If Floyd is stupid enough to give a fight to the guy with the biggest mouth that doesn't even have the balls to fight any top guys in the division first, I hope he loses. There are quite a few guys that deserve the fight more than Khan. To those that say, "Well, Khan's speed might trouble Floyd for a while". I guess I won't reply to that other than say welcome to the sport.

if this happens Floyd has done it to stop Khan begging for a fight with him.

Floyd stops Khan before the 6th round if he gets serious, the 10th if decides to beat him up for even longer to prove a point and if he makes it the full 12 rounds its because Mayweather has held him up for the last 2 rounds of the fight because he feels sorry for him.

This fight doesn't deserve a poll.

why so threatened?? and let's not be pretending Floyd dishes out 12 rounders so he can "beat people up". What is it, about 3 stoppages in the last 5 or 6 years or something like that?

for me Floyd can hang around at the pinnacle til he's 40-45 if he wants to.......maybe longer! but no need for the Khan hatred thank you.

For the life of me I can't understand the mind of a person who thinks Amir Khan beats Floyd.

I have been pretty outspoken about my dislike for Khan, but him getting a fight with Floyd is not about that. Its about him side-stepping the best in the division and wanting to leapfrog guys much more deserving to get his career payday. I would love to see the fight, but not just because he has the biggest mouth and has been begging for years. He has a great style that is fan-friendly, and entertaining when he gets wobbled. He just has not fought the competition to deserve it, plain and simple. Collazo was clearly past it, and had not had a meaningful win in 7 years. He was also bragged up to be a big puncher, but has less KO's than Khan.

Khan, if he somehow would be competitive with Floyd, would probably retire, saying he was right up there with the best, with nothing else to accomplish, all the while avoiding guys better than him. Make him fight Porter, Brook, Thurman....guys like that first. Maybe even a rematch with Maidana, or at the very least Guerrero.

He does have good speed, granted, but slow guys have had no trouble catching him. By the 3rd or 4th round Floyd would time him, and Khan would do the chicken dance. I would much rather see Floyd fight Brook, Thurman, or Pacquiao.

Mayweather would be the favourite and expected to win. But I do think that Khan's speed could give him troubles...

Same.

Its a lil disturbing to me how much I'm agreeing with you lately. Got a doctors appointment to see if I'm okay.

You're fine ... it's everyone else that's sick ... lol.

Khan is fast, but everyone seems to forget how technically flawed he is. But whatever, I'd still watch the fight to see Khan come out like a hurricane and win a the first round just off energy. Boxrec will be going crazy. Then, by the middle of the second round Floyd will begin landing the counter punch that he sees Khan is a sucker for, but Khan may still win the 2nd round in the eyes of Floyd haters.

By the 3rd round, Floyd will being to land whatever counter punch he found in the 2nd at will. By the end of the round, he'll mix in a few other power shots and the Floyd haters/Khan fans will get sober real quick.

Rounds 4 to 12 will be a complete clinic as Khan fades and Floyd really peppers him with shots. The fight may get stopped because once Floyd sees one way action without consequence, he is a pretty dangerous fighter because of his accuracy.

But whatever ... Khan has SPEED!!!!!

I could see Amir going the same way as another Briton to challenge Floyd, namely Ricky Hatton. Only probably sooner. Is Amir with Virgil H? if so I'd expect him to have improved his defences somewhat, and the mental/ patient side of his game. I still can't see a scenario in which Floyd is unable to hit him, however. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be plain sailing for Mayweather, but I do think he'd assert his version of the fight pattern.
I'd love to see Amir win it, as Floyd doesn't come over as an especially likeable guy - however, I do admire his mastery of boxing.

IMO, Khan is nothing special. He was never anything special.

You'd think that after watching him get KO'd against Garcia and Prescott, and struggling against Julio Diaz, people would realize that Khan's not that good.

Floyd stops Khan within 6? Haha that's funny. No, seriously.

Floyd doesn't stop anyone who is defending themselves. He's Hopkins.

If Khan-jobs chin can be crushed and dented by so-so punchers Prescott and Garcia, a serious Mayweather can certainly put him away when the opportunity arises.
Khan-job makes lots of mistakes, not a good thing for a fighter who is chin-challenged, and Floyd's the right guy to take advantage.

guys........... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the chances of this happening are fairly high. ESPECIALLY if khan vs guerrero happens in December and amir is able to pull out the victory. When you look at the top welterweights, the first thing you have to do is remove all of the top rank righters (come on, we all know it isn't going to happen). once you do that, you're pretty much left with a few names:

I marked off this first set of guys for obvious reasons:
maidana - already lost to Floyd twice
guerrero - lost to Floyd already
alexander - coming off a loss to porter
shawn porter - coming off of a loss to brook

Which leaves us with these guys:
Thurman - I don't believe he has the star power just yet, and plainly, I don't think Floyd wants to fight him
kell brook - star power lacking as well
khan - pretty much your best choice.

Basically what im sayin is that unless hell freezes over and he fights pac, khan is pretty much the best option by default especially is he beats Robert guerrero. Personally I would love to see him fight keith but we know that aint happening lol

Good fight, suits Khan being in with a technician rather than a puncher.

Both these guys stink the joint out on the inside with excessive holding so i think we'd expect 2 sharpshooters exchanging on the outside, Khan is considerably faster than Floyd, but that could be countered by Floyd having a hugely superior ring IQ and craftsmanship. Both guys will win rounds clearly, and the momentum of the fight could switch drastically from round-to-round. I wouldn;t usually expect Floyd to fight a dangerous opponent like Khan or Lara but he's running out of options and he may see Khan as a safer option than Bradley - and either guy has the tools to beat old man Floyd.
