Apologies if this question has been asked before, no doubt it has.
Can someone please clarify the distinction between the 'lesser' titles sanctioned by the major organisations?
Which is most prestigious/highly regarded/important of 'silver' 'international' & 'intercontinental' titles, if any?
Do they actually mean anything?
Does it give the holder priority etc?
Macklin & murray fight soon against opponents for the wbc international & silver titles respectively. Where will victories place them in the grand scheme of things?
I'm sure you get the point. Any help in this confusing matter is most appreciated.
All these different titles...
Re: All these different titles...
The WBC itself calls the Silver title a "World title", but, IMHO, it has no bigger meaning than any one of the other regional titles, and it does NOT give its owner priority to fight the champ. Order is International Silver title, then International title, and then Silver. Silver is the highest, but doesn't mean you will be ranked at #1... Only title eliminators that you win give you the right to challenge the champion, or, in more rare cases (except for the WBA, where it is very common), being the interim world champion also leads to a title shot when the champions next mandatory defence is due. Except if the champ is granted the right to fight in a unification fight against another champ (of the big 4, that is), then, this has priority.
Hope I could clarify this a little bit for you.

Cheers Claude.
That info does clear the fog a bit but is still quite confusing.
Thanks
